Too many times, I have seen the QB take a knee on 3rd and short, with over a minute to go in the game. Why does this occur? Shouldn't this be a running play to gain the first down instead, and then punt on 4th down?

The end result of one of these happenstances, was a punt return for a touchdown basically the game winner. Not like going for the first down on 4th and short, this is taking a knee on 3rd and inches. This can't be feasible.

Make the 3rd down and short kneel downs occur only when the time is guaranteed to run out (opponent has no time outs left).

if you are playing regular leagues then it is in your AI to do so. If in casual I am not sure why it would be doing it at all.

It has to be one of your settings because on my own team and all the teams I coordinate I have never seen it happen.

Not using any presets in casual, and only thing I can think of is Score Based Playcalling.

possibly like I said I have never seen the problem that you posted. and I have had casual teams since the start of my time on the game.
