Could it be set up so that when a team renews, all agents are sent a notice of sorts. Or even have a stamp somewhere on the team that would designate how long the team is under contract for.

Have seen it a few times, where an owner goes M.I.A. and does not return. But there is a chance that they renewed the team before they disappeared for an amount of time. Isn't there some way we all can see how long a team has been extended for?

Would eliminate the "team going instant CPU" surprise when half the team has been signed to 2-3 year contracts, and then have to search for a new (human) team later than sooner.

Thanks

I like this idea.... to have it show on the team page somewhere...

I actually had two teams that the "wonders" were there this season. 1 of them is the same one you're on.

I can see it being something that could help. But good owners really do not need this simply due to them making sure to keep their agents in the loop. the owners that see these types of problems are usually the crappy ones that go inactive and shouldn't own a team anyway.

but +1 to OP

In our case, the owner is most definately NOT a crappy owner. It's not the first time for us being a team and he has been active and a great owner throughout our whole history.

It's more like one of those things where you don't know if something may have happened to him to keep him out awhile... meanwhile, we're not sure if the team is renewed for next season... and we'd hate for it to go cpu, then he is able to come back on. If the team is renewed, then all is good. If not, one of us may want to purchase it to keep it together.

Sometimes things just happen. It would be good to know the status of the team, instead of worrying about it.

Just like players have their contract date, a team could have one too.

Meh, I don't need agents knowing I'm delinquent on my payments.

If it was optional than ok but I personally wouldn't want it for my teams

Would be nice to have a note on the team profile that shows how many seasons are paid up.

I don't see the need for it. In the past, I've usually waited until the last day or so to extend ownership. This suggestion would just lead to people panicking and sending me their own reminders to renew and would probably lead to them being cut later in the off-season for annoying me.

-1 as this suggestion would just lead to self-inflicted holes in my roster.

then your definition of a crappy owner is different than mine I guess. as a owner I let my agents know that the team is paid up for a few seasons everytime I re-new ownership. and in most cases it is never a problem that anyone has to ever worry about the teams future. If your owner is going inactive and isn't letting the agents know then friend he is a crappy owner. I have heard people say things come up and that is true. I have went through a ton of stuff myself but I have always found a way or time to make a post and let the players on my teams know what is going on. it is just a simple matter of showing respect to the agents that spend money to build players for the team I own.

I don't even have to speculate on what kinds of things can happen to people unexpectedly that could incapacitate them for awhile.

So by your estimation..... If I was, say, in a car wreck that put me in a coma for 3 or 4 weeks or something..... I'm a bad owner because I didn't let my wife, children, friends, or anyone know my password in hopes that THEY would think to get on here and let everyone know.

I guess your idea of a crappy owner and mine ARE different.... but when I've shared teams with someone for 12-14 seasons and they have never gone inactive without letting someone know, then *poof* they disappear, then more the one to be worried something happened to them than to think they're crap for not conconcting some way to let me know.

I don't really see the point in this. An owner can have the team locked up for the next 20 seasons and sell back tomorrow. He/she can also have it locked up for twenty seasons and all the dots signed up for 3 season contracts and never log back in. Not sure how allowing agents to see how long ownership is extended for makes any difference.

I do agree though that it's not really necessary. I went ahead and purchased the team because we didn't know if it was renewed or not and we wanted to keep it together. If he returns soon, I'll happily let him purchase it back.
