Well beyond the non-simulation nature of paying them in the offseason, and beyond the inconsistency that its the only financial thing that happens every day, there IS a game play reason for it as well. And you hint at it.
Yes you would be paying more then. But thats when you are making your money as well. its easier to match your salary to your income and to see if there is a problem and if a problem develops unforeseen, you have the opportunity to fix it by trying to increase income or spend less on promotions etc. If you screw up your finances post season though (you spent too much during the season) you're frakked through the whole 16 days, or I guess as much as 24 days if not a playoff team.
It would be much more user friendly to have the income and recurring expenses occuring at the same time. And it is what happens in the sport being simmed. And its what is true for everything BUT this one expense.
