Allow teams to offer once per off season a Big Contract.
This would be the Big Signing the team makes that season, which they will hype in the press, bring in the media for a hat and jersey photo op et cetera et cetera.
The contract would have to be for 110% of the normal maximum salary for that player, which would be automatically selected when the Big Contract check box is checked in the offer box. Only one Big Contract offer could be pending at a time, and once accepted no more could be made until the next Day 32 (to allow for it to be a Renegotiated Extension). If offered after Day 10 and prior to Day 40, the Big Contract must be for two seasons.
A Big Contract would add an additional point of morale bonus to the player.
A Big Contract would increase fan support for the team by a number equal to some reflection of the quality of the player. Say his Effective Level minus his actual level, or equal to his effective level over the team average effective level at the time he signs. Add in one, two or three points for a 3rd, 2nd, or 1st place award won in the last season, and +1 for each league championship and MVP award the player has.
The fan support bonus would last 40 season days or until the player is released.
