It really too powerful the way the defenders bite on that movement. It annoyed me the other day and I have been looking at it. In this play (which I realize now is private so only the mods if they can see it) there are SIX defenders on the left flat in man cover AND the RDE is supposed to go into the flat as well. Yet without breaking a single tackle the receiver makes a 23 yard gain on a screen into that.

That play is broken, get rid of it or change the mechanics.

Private game, so we can't see the replay.

I use the play as an OC a little. I don't think it's brokenly good; if it were, I'd use it a lot more. Most of the time someone gets a tackle attempt on the target when or shortly after he gets the ball. I probably wouldn't use it at all, but it's a way to utilize a Power WR on the team I OC.

But even with a Power WR, it doesn't work that consistently; he usually needs to break a tackle to make it work.

I don't think it's that powerful.

I use it some, but I come across plenty of defenses that snuff it and some that it works against.

OP can probably introduce you to a few more teams that it works against.

lol

Actually they stopped it on next play, LB stepped up I think.

But the point is that the defenders "bite" on the WR running in way too much, to the point where the CB dives into the O line and the FS in double coverage is darned near ready to tackle the QB before they wake up to the fact that the WR has stopped and caught the ball. Thats just moronic.

Moreover, this particular D I set up to test here had SEVEN defenders (5 CBs and a FS in double cover on W1-3 and the RDE in flat) all outside of the LOT staring the receiver and THREE blockers in the eye. And ALL seven defenders are blocked out of the play and the tackle had to be made by someone from the strong side twenty yards down field.

And in case you are wondering, no the WR didnt break a tackle or make a move. The defenders were all deked and blocked by the play construction.

Frikking ridiculous. Either the blocking and coverage issues need to be addressed or this play that exploits the weaknesses of those parts of the sim needs to be shelved until the fixes are made.

Yello --

I don't use this play very often because when I do, the DC's feast on it.

That tells me -- urdoingitwrong.

Guys its not that you cant do anything against it....

Its that it shouldnt be able to generate a result like that at all to begin with.

I mean the FS is going to run all the way to the QB????????? And the CB straight into the O line?

Coverage Pathing sucks on this play.

Ehhh, that play is really hit or miss. a lot of the time the play is shut down behind the LOS if you line up the safeties right it depends on the WR breaking tackles. Sometimes you can get away with tossing it to a power WR, but most of the time the WR screens are shut down pretty well unless one of the CB's get's cut blocked and the Safeties are inside or deep.

If you think it's buggy coverage pathing there is a forum for posting things such as this... like the bugs forum.

They do not seem to consider bad coverage a "bug" but rather a feature. As such, the OP is a suggestion to strike this particular play wherein that "feature" can create some insanely stupid results.

There is probably one other one. Probably any screen where the wideout runs in towards the QB will generate the same borked coverage running.

Even if some other defender can manage to break through the blockers and make the tackle its just silly to watch the guys man covering the receiver move the way they do.
