It makes no sense at all confidence can effect a players jumping ability or STR for example. It also makes no sense that low stamina means a DOTs catching skill goes down. What im suggesting is basically make stam effect ONLY physical attributes while Conf effects ONLY football skills. They wont effect each other and Vis will never be lowerd by either.

My thoughts are that the more tired a person is, the harder it is to focus. And the shakier the person's confidence is, the more likely it is that he subconsciously hesitates or rushes his actions.

I agree that stamina affects physical attributes (especially speed, agility) more than football skills (in real life), but it does affect catching, tackling, etc. as well. Confidence doesn't really affect speed IRL, but pretty much everything else.

I have zero idea whats in the codes other than the Oracles vague mutterings.
That said though, it sounds like he uses Confidence to reflect the Intimidation factor in football, the fear of being hit, of being knocked on the ground and smacked in the face. "Hearing the Footsteps", "Gator Arms" and so forth.
In that light, it would make sense that it effect a broad range of activities. It may not make his muscles weaker (though Weak in the Knees is a term for scared), but it might make him be thinking about the hit thats coming so much that he jumps late and does not put his full power into it because a part of him is alredy cringing from an anticipated hit. The same can be true of vision, if you are thinking about something else like not getting hit again then your full attention is not focused on the game.
The only place I find it kinda odd is in the blocking game. O Line men having confidence as a primary doesn't make alot of sense to me. But I only played O line in intramurals so who knows,. maybe in real football its a big deal in holding a block too.
All of that said, I agree it should not reduce the skills, but it should be arguably be factored into the equations those skills come into play.

They should affect all skills.
A tired player should have less vision as he should be having issues with focusing. A tired player should have trouble catching, and be worse at carrying the ball, and not able to jump as high, or fake as well. Tiredness affects everything in real life.
A player with low morale is going to use his strength less ablely. He is going to maybe not cut as quick, or not try to really go up and catch a ball with a defender near if he thinks he can't get it, he may not sprint at full speed if he thinks it's a lost cause.
I think morale and breath should affect all skills.
