I'm not entirely sure why this is not an option, but if you start a thread or make a post you should have the option to delete it at least from public view.

You should only be able to delete threads that are void of any post besides your own.

I could see where you would want to keep an admin-viewable version of all post for moderating purposes, but at the same time I should be able to remove my post if I want to.

I'm aware I can just edit the post to say nothing, but I just don't see why I shouldn't be able to make it as if I never posted at all.

This applies specifically to forums meant for the betterment of the game, the Bugs and Suggestion forum... if I make a suggestion that is already made I should be able to delete my own thread and move my discussion in to their own, and if I report a Bug and discover there to be no bug on my own I should be able to delete that post as well.

To be honest makes very little sense that you can erase what you said but not that you said something.

+1

Just like we should be able to unsend an unread PM.

Sometimes you hit Submit by accident or post in the wrong forum etc, and it would be easier for everyone to allow us to self edit the post away.

They are joking because people with multis will occassionally screw up and post something when using their illegal alternate account (remember you are only allowed one account) aka the "Multi" for multiple accounts.

This will not matter unless of course they do it in a way that makes it clear they are not who they think they are, like posting in their league forum about their team owned by their regular account, or in reply to something someone said in reply to their other account.

Its funny as heck when you see it. Just happened the other day in a league forum.

And yes that would be another opportune time for such a tool! LOL

I do it on Facebook alot kinda. My wife is always on FB at home and occassionally I get on the PC see a comment she made and "Like" it for her, or worse respond, and then realize it was still logged in as her so I just made her make some wise crack about her own post in front of her work mates etc. Funny.

I get that, I'm not stupid... but explain to me how that is in any way related to my suggestion.

Currently a multi-user can't delete his post but could edit it to say something to cover for himself.

Unless your trying to imply that any edited post from someone not in a League is reported for multi-account use... then nothing in regards to hiding your multiple account use is added by adding a delete button next to an already existing edit button.

So how is it in any way anything but a troll on me and my suggestion to bring it up...

Or as I said before just pathetic logic usage by people in a hurry to -1 any suggestion not made by themselves or their buddies.

I think they were just being funny.

However there are folks that think threads shouldn't be deleted because it allows them to hide their misdeeds from Mod Eyes.

I concur that leaving the record there for Mods to see would fix that concern.

I certainly do not think it -1 worthy anyway. Do not punish us all for the deeds of the guilty.

I see this idea being used for bad more than for good tbh.

just pm a mod when you need a thread locked....we're usually pretty good to lock it up.

You fail to explain how this creates a new opportunity for multi-users to hide their mess ups, or even makes it easier.

If this isn't adding anything new for them then it is no doubt only adding a useful feature for us legit users and therefore should be implemented.

Why not just allow me to delete my thread and you use the time reading my pm and locking the thread to find multis if your so worried about them.

If anything allowing them to delete it would make it easier for you as a moderator, since the deleted post would then be relocated and thus would be viewable without having to make your way through the entire existing forum looking for all those suspicious edited post...

The other concern is pr0n flashing and other abuses. But yes an insta Mod cash of player deleted threads would fix that issue.

All of that is already possible with the currently existing system.

Thus there is no reason to bring it up, I'd understand if you had new concerns caused by suggestion... buy you clearly don't.

If there is something wrong with the game, don't blame me and bring it up in my threads that are therefore clearly completely unrelated.

I'm not trying to be combative its just this is my first suggestion and it was insta-trolled by a mod.

This isn't really necessary seeing how you can just edit it. Who cares if you accidently posted something, just edit it out and leave it blank. Whats wrong with that? If you post in the wrong forum or something and you are worried you might get suspension points removed or temporarily banned from the forums, then just edit your post and ask a mod to lock the thread. TBH the only reason why I'd see someone really needing this is if they had multi's and were trying to prevent themselves from being caught after making a mistake.
