correct me if im wrong but it looks to me like punters get on the mvp list for having large amount of punts when I feel like it should be based on all the stats and not the number of punts. It should go off the avg distance, coffin corners, and inside 5 or 10 yards.

Yeah punt yards really shouldn't play a significant role.

EDIT: +1

I was meaning TOTAL punt yards

Can someone also look at this and tell me why the WR Desean Jackson is #1 in the current mvp race here? Is it also because of yards? He has about 720 yards and 6 TD's. There are other guys on the list that appear to be having better seasons, like my Qb Wolf Ticket who has over 23 td's who had a lot of easy games. Im just trying to understand how it works.

I guess in closing does yards just play a huge role in all offense/k/p mvp races?

MVP is based on blowout-adjusted stats, not raw stats. Your QB has 1337.12 yards (second by far) 18.94 passing TD (most), Jackson has 709.01 receiving yards (first by far) and 5.87 TD (2nd)

It's hard to compare different positions though

Really, we need a stat for net punt yardage/average that I don't think is even kept and seems as if it would be easy to keep, to give those who specialize in coffin corner kicks a fair shot at the award.

And yes, it should be based on average with simply a minimum number of attempts rather than on total punt yards, whether it's net or gross yardage.
