by a team get 5 o-linemen free

since linemen are probably the most boring positions to make anyway, this would cut down on the number of o-linemen and owner needs to recruit, which would allow agents on the team to make other players instead of linemen

this would also reduce the demand for linemen which would steer other agents away from making more linemen, which would mean the make other players which cost more flex

win-win

thank you, send directly to epic

<-- all of you

So buy a team, put the OL on your own team. How does this help? And what if the person buys more then one team? What if they sell the teams, do they lose the players?

Also, how does this change the team to player ratio outside of pushing o-line out of demand? It does absolutely nothing to positions like TE for example.

That idea is even worse, but i'll explain it, when you make your own thread about it over the next couple of months

As part of the team ownership package, you get to create 5 offensive linemen for that team. You can stack all of the traditional limitations like no trade clause and salaries and whatever else. As long as the player owns that team he gets 5 o-linemen for that team.

For every team a player owns he gets 5 free o-linemen for that team.

The system is already in place for having a free player, you just limit it to the o-line and you tie them to that team with no trade clauses.

If the agent loses the team the players get deleted, and the new owner gets to make his own 5 o-linemen.

Instead of the owner having to beg agents to make o-linemen, he'll be asking for other types of players. It's not like everyone either makes an o-lineman or nothing. If the demand for the o-line is lowered, then agents will make other types of players--I doubt anyone will quit GLB because they can't make a run blocking guard.

Usually o-linemen are created by guys with other players, and most often they make multiple o-linemen, because they're cheap.
Few and far between are the players that only have 1 o-lineman.

On top of all of that, o-linemen are not fun. They are just a necessary evil. Players will be less likely to get bored and quit if they are making players that actually do something.

If you shift the burden of o-line building to the team owner, it becomes a continual process, that's a part of the ownership experience, instead of just building the stadium and setting ticket/concession prices once per season. None of the other tasks of team ownership are amazingly entertaining, but taken as a whole, it becomes a rewarding experience.

Still doesn't help though, all it's going to do is prevent OL from being made. The only way is to get rid of teams.

I want to say that I see those five "O-linemen" becoming five ST players if this were implemented, but I really can't see this being implemented. Not even if the cost of the five players were rolled into the cost of team ownership.

For some of us that love building O-linemen this idea is terribad.

Plus, getting a set amount of free players I am already very sure is NGTH.

well a team needs more than 5 o-line, so it's not like you could never build um. you're in a network anyway, so your teams never have to worry about signing players, so your opinion is inherently biased. if the players were included in the cost of the team, then they wouldn't be free per say, just part of a package deal.

Which is more likely to happen? Stopping the sales of teams when there's a player shortage, or taking some measure to directly alleviate the player shortage.

both are very unlikely, but hopefully this will at least spark an idea in someone else
