One of the issues I see in the Bug Forum is that it is somewhat Chaotic. People post all kinds of Bugs, and the responses come or not. It's pretty much based on what title catches your eye.

One thing that I think would help with the submission and commenting on Bugs would be to break down the Bug Forum into Sub Sections.

Here are my suggested Sub Forums.

1. Ownership Issues: Owner and Co-Owner bugs.
4. Interface Issues: Issues with the Web Site, or Pages.
2. Offense Issues: Both AI and Gameplay.
3. Defense Issues: Both AI and Gameplay.
5. General Bugs: Things that don't fit into other Categories.

I think this would improve both the processing of Bugs, and the ability of people to respond to ones that affect their interests.

Unless Catch22 has done a complete 180 on the Bugs issue, it was being discussed to turn the Bugs System into a Ticket system like Support currently is and doing completely away with the Bugs Forum altogether.

which is a crock because seeing something posted causes others to look and see if it happened to them

this is just being lazy and looking to reduce the effort they put into taking care of the game

Well, maybe they changed their mind.... not sure tbqh. It was talked about awhile back and nothing has happened the past few seasons, so maybe it is staying as is.

As for the OP, In theory it sounds nice and maybe it would work well, so I personally would be for anything to try to improve the system. In the end though, I think it would be like everything else, people would post in the wrong subforum and Bug Mods would spend more time moving things to where they should be than able to actually deal with the issue at hand.

I think that would be a horrible idea, at least in Beta. Just look at all the changes that were bug driven in this season's sim. There were 13 change log adjustments since the beginning of the new season. So the Bug Forum has been busy.

Oddly enough there was only 1 bug in the "Filed" thread for this season. Either someone isn't keeping up with the system, or no user feedback was used in the changes in the change log. I am going to go with the first.

Until you go Gold, beta tester input is the best tool you have. After that, you need to have very good testers, with the tools and the knowledge to break down a bug and replicate it.

So for now, and even at least 1 season, maybe 2 seasons into Release, I think you will need user input, and I think this method of categorizing will help both the users and the Bug Mods.

I agree that user help is pretty important at this point, but the problem is that about 90% of things posted here as bugs are not bugs and have become nothing more than a time sink for the bugs mods. Leads guys like FlyFish to get a reputation for short replies and quick locks (and some name calling behind the scenes), but frankly I'd prb become a dick too in his shoes. Doesn't excuse any lack of customer service or whatever, just saying........

And of the other 10% at least half are duplicates tbh.

I don't think that moving open threads to subforums is a good idea. I mostly like the current organization of the Bugs Forum -- given the limitations of the forum system in general -- and frankly wish a similar system were in place itf.

NGTH. We will be going to a ticketing system as soon as the coding is done on it.
