And no, it shouldn't be like real life. Otherwise we would all be playing a game where everyone has to make hundreds of millions of dollars working a job/inheritance/whatever and come into a huge pile of money, and then going to the league management and ask for a franchise to open.
At that point you would then have to talk to local governments about them putting up money for a stadium, tax breaks, road improvements to get the best deal. Then once you do this and they build you a stadium, if things don't work out well, you move the team someplace else and do the same thing over.
Stadium building is currently part of the game. it's the same for everyone. Just because you somehow have extra cash to spend does not mean you should get to build more. It isn't that hard to build up a stadium as it is right now. Why take that little bit away?
