1st order of business, I’d like to welcome the newest owner of a team here in BBB#7, as the Charlotte Panthers have become the Roswell Invaders and are now under the leadership of Stickman… wait a minute, what the hell am I doing running power rankings when Stickman is in the league. Oh yeah, I’m wasting time at work.

Welcome to the league Stickman, I’d love to see your rankings here as well as they are some of the better ones out there.

The major components of the rankings are as follows:

Strength of Schedule (SOS): The winning percentage of your opponents to date.
Quality of Wins (QW): Bonus points are awarded for every win based on the opponents winning percentage. So if you beat a winless team, you get nothing, if you beat a previously undefeated team, big bonus.

Offensive Points Over Average (OPOA): If you opponent averages 14 points against and you score 17, you get +3 in the ranking.

Defensive Points Under Average (DPUA): If your opponent averages 21 points scored and you allow 14 you get +7 in the ranking.

No movement in the Top 5 or Bottom 4 this week, but in between teams jumped all over the place as things start to sort themselves out as we have reached the mid-point of the season.

Contenders

#1 – Oakland Nation (8-0, rank 35.81) (Last Week #1, Same)

The DFL Gods put up quite a fight against Oakland in a game where a couple key turnovers made the score look a lot more lopsided that the game actually was. This week Oakland faces the Paraplegics in a game they can’t overlook before back-to-back match-ups with teams from Austin.

#2 - Atlanta Purple Penguins (8-0, rank 32.26) (Last Week #2, Same)

The Game of the week more than lived up to the hype as Atlanta scored a 1-point victory over a tough as nails Niagara squad. Next up, the Penguins host River City in what should be a blowout where Atlanta can build up their lead in the rankings over Louisville.

#3 - Louisville Baby Kittens (8-0, rank 32.18) (Last Week #3, Same)

The Baby Kittens went into Appalachian and escaped with a win over a team that may have been motivated by some idiot thinking a Lycan was a cat, not a Werewolf. Saginaw and the chip on their shoulder is up next in a game that Louisville should win.

#4 – Austin Alcoholics (8-0, rank 28.53) (Last Week #4, Same)

The cross-town showdown between Austin A. and Austin B. provided yet another week 8 thriller, with Austin A. winning by 4. Can the Alcoholics avoid temptation and come back from Malibu with another win, or will the Mels score an upset to get back into the playoff picture.

#5 – Niagara Rapids (6-2, rank 24.35) (Last Week #5, Same)

Even with a loss, Niagara maintained their position in the top 5 thanks to their showing vs. #2 ranked Atlanta. Next up is a South Bend squad that has looked much better since shellacking Richmond.

2nd tier

#6 - Anchorage Vikings (7-1, rank 20.79) (Last Week #7, +1)
Steadily moving up the charts with 7 wins in a row.

#7 Appalachian Lycans (5-3, rank 19.78) (Last Week #9, +2)
Moved up despite a tough loss.

#8 - Lincoln Freedom Warriors (6-2, rank 19.56) (Last Week #6, -2)
Minor Upset means loss of 2 spots.

#9 Austin Breakers (6-2, rank 19.02) (Last Week #10, +1)
Tough stretch continues with Two Step and Oakland in the next 2 weeks.

#10 Texas Tarheels (3-5, rank 16.49) (Last Week #8, -2)
Slipping as the glitch in the rankings sorts itself out.

Need to turn it up a notch

#11 DFL Gods (5-3, rank 14.63) (Last Week #11, same)
#12 Red Bank Thundercats (5-3, rank 13.91) (Last Week #18, +6)
#13 Houston Armageddon (4-4, rank 12.80) (Last Week #12, -1)
#14 Mailbu Mels (3-5, rank 11.69) (Last Week #15, +1)
#15 The State of Texas Domination (4-3-1, rank 11.53) (Last Week #14, -1)
#16 LA Chupacabras (4-4, rank 11.41) (Last Week #17, +1)

Seriously, Any Boosts Left?

#17 Texas Two-Step (5-3, rank 10.63) (Last Week #19, +2)
#18 Las Vegas Outlaws (4-4, rank 10.04) (Last Week #13, -5)
#19 Saginaw Spirit (3-5, rank 8.41) (Last Week #24, +4)
#20 Roswell Invaders (3-5, rank 7.90) (Last Week #16, -4)
#21 Chicago Whodat’s (5-3, rank 6.20) (Last Week #21, Same)
#22 Big Money Dynasty (2-6, rank 6.77) (Last Week #20, -2)
#23 Jax Beach Juggernauts (3-4-1, rank 5.70) (Last Week #23, same)

Graduates of the Marshawn Lynch Driving School

#24 Visalia Paraplegics (3-5, rank 5.60) (Last Week #26, +2)
#25 The Killer Rabbits of Caerbannog (2-6, rank 4.79) (Last Week #22, -2)
#26 Atlanta Ducks (2-6, rank 3.04) (Last Week #25, -1)
#27 South Bend ShamRockers (2-6, rank 1.34) (Last Week #28, +1)
#28 Cleveland Buckeyes (1-7, rank 0.14) (Last Week #27, -1)

Lucky there is no regulation

#29 The River City Ransom (1-7, rank –3.16) (Last Week #29, Same)
#30 Fresno Anarchs (1-7, rank –4.44) (Last Week #30, Same)
#31 Big Whiskey Assassins (0-8, rank –17.74) (Last Week #31, Same)
#32 Richmond Empire (0-8, rank –24.48) (Last Week #32, Same)

I round of applause from Red Bank for another job well done! And a good hearty chuckle for making fun of Marshawn Lynch. What will you do when NFL players stop getting in trouble/doing stupid things...oh wait nevermind.
