Just have the top 6 teams in the playoffs, its not like seeds 7 and 8 matter anyways. Give the 1st and 2nd seeds a round bye, 3rd vs. 6th, 4th vs. 5th seeds.

seriously, you guys think that if you made 7th or 8th seed your team still has a shot? I'd say like 99% of the time those teams don't do anything, so just eliminate them.

For starters, if it is an automatic win for the 1 and 2 seed like you suggest, then what does it matter if those teams get their shot? If it is so automatic, then the 1 and 2 seed aren't likely spending much time getting ready for the game anyway.

I have seen #8 seed knock off #1 seed many times.

Just no reason to do this. And upsets happen. Part of the fun.

Logical conclusion of this argument is taking away 5 & 6 spots from playoffs. And so on. Hell, just put the two teams with best reg. season conference records straight into a final?
