even if you cannot post in a team forum, as soon as a contract offer is received a player should have automatic access to that team's forum - the main reason is to get a feel for the team and, in particular, to help determine whether the owner/co-ordinators have any intention of doing what they promise you (agents are currently at a significant disadvantage when they cannot get out of a contract even if not put on depth chart or, for instance, get zero carries becaause the owner gives the ball to their HB on every carry)

only way you should get into a teams forum is if you are a member of the team. alot of teams post build guides and different strategies that they do not want just anyone having. by doing your suggestion you could poach all the info and never sign.

in that case the contract offer system needs to at least give agents the ability to include a special condition that is pivotal to them agreeing to sign which if breached let's them out of the contract - if you are promised to be the only passing QB, or that you will be the returner, or that you will get half the carries, or whatever the owner promises you, he should be bound by that (and as this is a game and not real life I do not care that a owner signs a better dot later on - if he wants to give that dot all the playing time then the first guy should be able to get a release) - i am sure the majority of owners are fine but there are a sufficient number of bad ones out there now that it is only fair to give an agent the abilty to go to a CPU team rather than sitting on the sideline all season wasting flex

I understand where you are coming from here but you are overlooking something in your argument. what about the changes to the sim each and every season. say you have a player that I recruited and I had full intentions of getting that player a ton of touches. but the sim changes and it renders your player basically useless. so here is my question for you is it more important to keep forcing the offense to give your player the ball knowing he isn't going to be successful. and by not being successful that hurts the teams chances. or do I do what is best for the team and adjust the offense and try to win and basically give your player fewer touches than I had planned. by your example because I would do what was right for the team you would be calling me a bad owner.

I personally do not know your situation that brought this suggestion up, but there are times that owners get labeled bad owners when in reality it is the player that is just being selfish. yes I know as players you spend money to build your player and so on. but the flip side of the arguement that you aren;t seeing is that the owner has to deal with 55 peoples dots not just 1. so while you are worried about just your 1 dot he is trying to make sure the other 54 are took care of as well.

and this post as what exactly to do with the instance given? his statement was suggesting that in a situation where the criteria set by ownership isn't fulfilled you should be able to get a release. your 'counter argument' as to why his suggestion is bad is some players are selfish. I don't get it.

the set up provided by mvjb20 actually solves your selfish player complaining issue. by having contract stipulations that if not met allow an agent to release his player from a team resolves the issue of being a bad owner/labled as one. then you just have to deal with a prima-donna asshole.

The combination of autooffers and forum access creates a lot of unnecessary chaos.

-1 as it is today it should be the owners choice to let someone come on and have a look.

isn't this a different thought or suggestion from the op?
Look for decent team owners that try to be the best in game and their word. What happens if the said agent just wants out and dumps the team for any reason whats to keep the team from being screwed over from a agent just bailing?
