I know there is a trade forum for trades and what not, but I was wondering what everyone's thoughts would be on starting a trade block thread here for the league as well? One where people could list what they are looking for or offering and then dialog could take place via PM to work out a deal?

I know we have some teams who are nearly out of contention for the playoffs (mine is riding the line) and some who are looking for a couple of guys to make a playoff push. Is it legal (IE: In Bort's eyes) to have talks here ala real life sports for such deals. They typically involve cash or players with expiring contracts who can help a team get over the hump.

As an example...let's say I want to try to get a solid starting LG for the second half of the season. I am willing to offer up a significant amount of cash as well as another G to fill this spot.

As I said, these types of deals happen and I would like to see if we could get something like that going here, if you guys are willing to do so? Of course, we'd have to have both buyers and sellers interested in order for it to work! LOL

A simple no would have been sufficient...could do without the sarcasm (If I am readiing the posts correctly)

I know I have players of the caliber that you guys are talking about and if I was certainly out of playoff hope, I would consider trading some of them. So I don't quite understand the closemindedness/sarcasm (again, I might be misreading here, and if so, my apologies)

I will just go back to my hole and stop contributing to this fast moving board....

No, really, all of us really need those guys, we need the lvl 18+ CB bad. I have a lvl 20 DT I can swap for him too.

has anybody even thought that if you trade a player from the same league
and conference, he might have a player remaining in the old team?

Which means you just gave the other team access to forums and etc.
like hiring a double-agent or something.

i honestly didn't think anyone would trade in-conference... lol

i dont see why either, unless you got some miserable guy with a terrible build

I was being serious. We do need the CB, DE, and FS. Check our roster.

As I said in my original post...

If you had a player on your team who has an expiring contract at the end of the season but was a decent build, he would be the kind of guy who could be offered to others in conference for cash considerations if that team needs a guy to help get them over the edge and into the playoffs. Obviously, the downside would be taking a guy with an expiring contract but the upside would be a boost at a certain position if he was good enough. Now obviously, a smart owner would do their homework before making such a trade to ensure the guy didn't have other players on the team he was leaving, etc...and if he did, that you don't play that 0-8, 1-7, 2-6, etc team down the road during the regular season. I didn't think I needed to state the obvious on this one, but apparently so.

For example, I have a Level 22 FS (http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=64779 ) available on my team who is the only player from this agent on my team. His contract is up on Day 1 of Season 4 and he probably won't resign with me. If I let him walk, I get nothing in return. However, if someone really needs a player like this...

I have played some of the top teams in the conference already and lost so I won't be playing them again. I probably have been eliminated from playoff contention after this week (I would think) so lets say I was interested in shopping him. Now this is just an example, as I didn't really ask him if he wanted to go to a winning team, but if I did and he agreed, I would have him open his stats for a short time or I would copy them and send them to interested owners via PM and work out some sort of deal.

I don't see any problem with offering guys like this up to the league first as a courtesy to my fellow BBB#11 peeps. That is why I posted to determine the league's interest in such activities...

you don't see a problem with giving(just an example) the manahtten rampage your higher lvl rent-a-players , they use them to beat the austin packers 2nd to last week and steal their playoff spot because of guys you handed them?
