While I do support this, why do you want to mark them as read if you don't care about that forum? The "NEW' button annoy you?

I don't care about the forums I don't read, but...

I'd like this because I don't read every thread in each forum, but I do read "some" of them. So it would be nice to read the ones I want to read, and then make one click to clean up the rest. As it is now, I have to use up a lot of bandwidth and system resources to load every topic (and all the associated DB calls to display each post on the page) just to mark it read.

The "mark all read" should be on a Forum Category by Category bases. NOT all posts in the entire forum, just all the posts in the "Bugs" forum if that's the one I'm in, or all the posts in the "Suggestions" - and so on.

There is a script out there where you can hide all the forums that you don't care about.

It's not so much about the forums we don't care about - it's the threads we don't care about within the forums that we do care about that need to be marked as read.

I always click the trackwheel on every thread (to open in new tab) and then close that window and open new one
