Situational Style of play. Example would be "Go for interception" or "Force Fumble" depending on the situation. If a team is down by certain amount Defensive players would take chances on interceptions and try to force a fumble.

This could also be up to the TEAM AI in case the OC or DC wants to cal the shots and not the individual player.

Player tactics take care of this.

I think he's asking for more situation-specific options: a dot can start playing more aggressively when the situation calls for it, like late in the 4th quarter when a team needs the ball back as fast as possible. So dots would have settings rather like the Advanced Energy stuff for co-ordinators:

4th Quarter Specific:

Switch to Coverage Style: Aggressive when down by X points with Y seconds remaining.

Switch to Power tackling when down by X points with Y seconds remaining.

Switch to Pass Rushing: Aggressiveness 100 when down by X points with Y seconds remaining.

... and then the reverse options, switching to less aggressive options when ahead by X with Y seconds remaining.

Not a bad idea in principle, if only to give dot-only agents more choices?

I agree not a bad idea in theory. but how much would this actually be used? Yes some of the better agents would use it and it would help them. But the agents that do not log in everyday and do not actually get into the gameplanning side of the game wouldn't. also agents with a ton of players this would be a strain to them having to adjust all the players.

so -1 from me solely because I think it would end up being one of those rich get richer sort of things. but it isn't a bad idea just something I wouldn't want to see.

But if there were more things for players to do with their dots they might actually log in more often.

More features, more knobs and dials for the players to twist and turn and ponder over, is a good thing. So long as they are well explained and the UI is decent, thats never a bad thing.

Yello1 I am not going to argue with you over this you see it your way and I see it my way. you want all these extra bells and whistles to improve the experience. I just want the sim to actually work right and all the needed things be fixed first. then the game can look at adding the chrome as you call it.

As I stated above it isn't a bad idea but in my opinion it isn't needed because it is basically already addressed to some extent in the player tactics. and it would add a ton of extra work to people that have a ton of Dots. the extra bells and whistles are good for people that do nothing on teams and only mess with their Dots. but for the ones that do alot of coordinating and have a huge number of Dots this would be just more work with little rewards.

It definitely would make more work for the mega agents. It would definitely be something that should be covered in the multiplayer tactics page to ameliorate that to some degree. But that doesn't mean we wouldn't enjoy the additional control.

But alot of players only have one or two or three dots or a couple three as they say down south. And for them this and other bits of chrome would be a great motivator to keep them involved in the game day to day. And the more involved in the game they are the more likely they are to stay players over the long haul, maybe even build more dots et cetera. Conversely the less chrome for the players to tinker with the more likely they are to not bother logging in and therefore to quit the game.

Intentionally making your game more boring is not usually a great business plan, after all.

And whats more this addressed a hole in the game, which is the ability to adjust as many aspects of play over the course of the game to make the games not only a better more realistic simulation but also to make the games more entertaining to watch. The more changes to tactics happen during play in reaction to earlier game results the less predicatable the outcome of the game will be as you watch it.

An interesting concept. And those that don't want to use it, wouldn't have to.

It really wouldn't be onerous for the "mega agents" if it's added to the quick tactics.

Yeah in a general, whole game setting. Im talking about AI based on the situation.

Similiar to current TEAM AI's.

I.E.: Wrap up on Third and Short
Force fumble if down late
Go for interception if down late

Pretty much abilty to change aggressivenes IN GAME. No need to be conservative as a Defense if the other team is driving late and in the lead. No need to be aggressive if winning late in game.
