Title kinda says it all, I know this might lead to a bit of in-fighting over whom to name the award after, particularly at HB where there are several qualified candidates (like Tea Baggins, DMP, Dooley, Nuke Em) but this might be cool to give an award for this as well. It'd be a low level priority I'm sure, but it'd at least be something for users to hang their hats on...

QB- Grim Blackwood Award (Given to the QB #1 in Conf)
HB- Jedi Knight Award (Given to the HB #1 in Conf)
..

EDIT: Maybe remove the names from the awards... OR come up with a way to most efficiently name the awards.. (Vinman)

EDIT#2: Maybe name the awards after admin The Bort award or something to that effect..... if not scrapping the names and leaving as "Best QB" is still a worthwhile idea IMO

I like the idea in principle, but I think that might be a bit time consuming and possibly impossible (especially in the lower minors)

This can be done too, I thought the names might liven things up instead of getting a trophy for "Best QB" you get a Blackwood trophy, but I certainly get it

But, instead of putting it at every league, only make it to where someone at a pee wee level can't go arround saying "I am the best" It could be the best in that position in all of GLB not just in one league.

Tell us more about the naming idea. Would they be named after the top retired player, or would it be like the (now-former) Stagg-Paterno trophy? Would the names change every season? Would each conference's trophies have the same set of names?

You could probably use yello1's idea for the various pro leagues without as much trouble as the minor leagues.
