One of the more dramatic plays is the Third Down Conversion attempt (or even better the 4th down).

To go with Pass Blocker, Pass Rusher, Mr First Down, Mr Reliable and 3rd Down Stopper I suggest we round out the third down experience on the field as follows

One for the Linemen on short yardage running plays to supplement Pass Blocker and Pass Rusher.
When Inches Count The player amps up his game on key third downs. When losing or winning by no more than fourteen points on third and fourth downs with less than 2 yards to go, the player receives a +1% to holding or breaking a block for each level of WIC.

And a pair for the tackle component
None Shall Pass On Key plays this player gives it all to bring his man down. When losing or winning by no more than fourteen points on third and fourth downs and making a tackle within 2 yards short of the first down marker, the defender receives a +1% to Make Tackle for every level of None Shall Pass, (then same language from DvG to energy and morale loss).

Unstoppable This player gives it all to make that key first down. When losing or winning by no more than fourteen points on third and fourth downs and being tackled within 2 yards short of the first down marker, the ball carrier receives a +1% to Break Tackle for every level of Unstoppable, (then same language from DvG to energy and morale loss).

Its called Brick Wall. And nobody uses it despite it being able to activate on every down. Why would anyone use it limiting its down of use?

True that is the direct counter to Mr First Down as well as Tenacious.

But Brick Wall doesnt help you make the tackle. Which is why its not used.

This would help the tackle be made to begin with.

I suppose, though, it ought to be matched by a new VA to break tackles on third down really. Consider the OP so edited....

You don't have to. Extra VAs like this, where there is no NEED for them, are total gravy. I just like gravy.

But the more useful VAs there are the more variety there will be in player builds. I like variety. It makes the game more fun and that means more people still stay to play it. I think thats a fact that can not be denied.

Whether or not these particular VAs are to your liking though, is entirely a matter of opinion. You are welcome to yours without question.

Why?

Players have personalities and skills and tendencies that the VAs mimic/simulate.

And it adds to the depth and variety of player builds and play.

Getting them balanced is a chore no doubt but all in all they are a plus IMO. Even without my proposed new ones.

I'd rather just see Fire Up include PDs or INTs on 3rd/4th down, rather than 3rd/4th tackle short. I'd rather give the team a boost than a dot. I'm tired of all this "army of one" mentality.

Yes like I said getting them balanced is a trick.

But if they keep a closer eye on that, testing for balance and changing if it turns out to be skewed, the end result is better than no VA at all.
