I think its time we did away with the 5 day limit before needing to update it again.
Why not keep the Free Agency Ad there until the player is signed to a human team, then its auto removed?
Remove the 5 day limit for ads but have them vanish if the agent hasn't been online for 5 days.
The mere act of logging in on any day renews the ad for 5 more days until signed.
Players would then only need to post a Free Agency Ad 1 time per season instead of always updating it.

But longer then 5 days doesn't seem like a terrible idea. As long as at some point they are removed.... whether that is 10 days, 20, or end of season.

Replace 5 day limit with removing ads for players that are over 56 days inactive.

Include a tag in the ad listing that is similar to the Inactive Flag on a teams roster, which indicates how old the ad is.

Add age of ad to ad search filters (ie less than X days, where X is a drag down to the white, orange, red inactive days and also allow free form entry).

I like a perma ad in as much as a player can be camped in the D leagues with an ad up and at that point how old his ad is is not really relevant.

Crummy dots need homes too.
And being able to quickly find an ad for a mid season replacement dot could be helpful if one of your agents goes inactive or gets banned. Even if its a crummy dot OR a discerning dot in the Ds who was hoping a quality slot might come free.

I like to think about the people on vacation or on military service who might not get connections often.

But 14 days wouldn't suck either.

i put up my WRs ad a couple of days before day40
she's a great WR imo but not elite enuf obviously to get any quick PMs
by the time i started to get any offers the ad was expiring, when i went to refresh
it was too late and i had to do it over and had went some amount of time w/ no ad up.
i'd like to see either the time added to, or at least a warning when its about to expire.
5 days too short imo

I'd only say it should be extended to 9 days. Reason being that it's the length of post season, then you would refresh it for the season roll over and it would last till day 0. If you can't find a team in a 17 day time period then sign with a cpu team. If you can't get on one (because for some reason you think glb needs more QB's) then contact support and have them force you on a CPU team.

Ad's don't need to be sitting around all season. If you can't be bothered to log in once every 5 days or 9 days or whatever to refresh your ad, then how does that show you will be an active participant on a team, including training, applying VA's and SP's and so on.

Player inactivity or age of ad?

I like a perma ad in as much as a player can be camped in the D leagues with an ad up and at that point how old his ad is is not really relevant.

If his owner skips town though, thats another issue.

Seriously, I've never had a dot in the marketplace for more than a few hours. If it takes you that long to sign or commit to a team you either build shitty dots or you're a problem agent.

I finally retracted outstanding offers as the horrible agents still in the marketplace were just sitting on offers while not even with a CPU team (obviously not even training). The assholes want to sit out refusing to sign with anyone other than a winning team. They're too stupid to realize A) the gold contenders don't need dots during the regular season and B) the later they sign the more they are killing the team's chem they do sign with.

Apparently they only want to play for a "winner" (as in they want a ring) but don't understand signing them would keep a team from winning a title of any sort.
