It would be nice to have some warning of where ones team is winding up next season. Notably in the Regional Pro to National Pro transition. I know it may be hard to say with certainty, but it should not be impossible to offer some guidance.

Say starting Day 32 start a routine that monitors team ownership in the National Pro Leagues. Demoting Teams are locked, CPU owned teams can be tallied, and then teams whose team ownership has not been renewed added to the mix.

Then do the same for the Regional Pro teams and rank them based upon whatever it is that is used to determine whichever ones are going to be promoted to National Pro. Strike CPU owned teams from the list.

Give the top 16 Regional Pro teams that are not CPU a "Promoting To National Pro" notation on their profile, as these teams will definitely be replacing the Demoting teams in National Pro.

Next send the remaining top X teams a "Probably Promoting to National Pro" where X is the number of CPU owned teams in National Pro that were not on the demoting list.

Next send "Possibly Promoting to National Pro" to the remaining Y teams of Reg Pro, where Y is the number of non demoting non CPU owned teams in National Pro that have not renewed their team ownership past day 40 of the season.

Then send "Could Conceivably Promote to National Pro" to the remaining Z teams of Reg Pro, where Z is the number of teams in the prior Reg Pro categories whose team ownership is currently set to expire on Day 40.

Up date these notices daily. As CPU teams are bought by GMs, other teams are sold by owners, and as team ownerships are extended the notices would vary from day to day for some teams. But for many it would remain consistent, and as Day 40 neared it would become so for more and more teams.

This would give a Reg Pro owner some idea of what to expect. This would let him extend the contracts of players who are National Pro qualified and not extend the ones who are not, and start looking for new players who he would need in the big leagues.
