Ok 2 games in a row now I have given up BIG plays because my CB looks like he's trying to jam the WR at the line or something, but then gets beat. Plus when the pass is thrown, he just stops like an idiot. I have my interception frequency on Medium (Only go for it if you have help over the top), and my coverage style on close.

Here's some examples:

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=7736838
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=8101048

I'm usually a great corner, and the few times I've seen this happen, it's led to a TD (1st replay) or been a TD (2nd replay).

It's really hurting our team.

I don't really want to give away my build, so I'm just wondering...does it look like a lack of a certain attribute?

it looks like on the first replay, the WR did a head fake or something and you fell for it and/or you have a terrible vision level and A)you got fooled by a move and/or B) you got fooled by a pump fake

#2 replay, it looks like, your guy thought he had help over the top with the other CB being down the field farther and went for the pick and missed the ball.

Why do I keep taking a couple steps toward the WR at the beginning of the play? I've never seen any other CBs do that, and it keeps leaving my susceptible to getting beat deep.

My vision is also around 40.

Do you maybe have defensive focus set on run?

That's a level 22 WR. Maybe he had high points in head fake that outweighed your vision. Sometimes good CBs get beat. Maybe get some points into Super Vision?

On a related note... Why does my CB do stuff like this:

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=8100181

It seems to be happening quite often each game and always results in 10-15 yard completions. My team doesn't run any zone, so that can't be it.

Is this part of an outside run defense or something?

Sometimes the backups on my team do stuff like that, and they have mostly low vision. How's yours?

To the OP - if it's just the 2 crappy plays, or even 1 crappy game, I wouldn't worry about it too much. 4 levels difference between you and the WR will cause problems, and everyone gets beaten sometimes. That said.. do you have 4+ levels of Super Vision to go with your high vision? High Vision + Super Vision really go well together (imagine that...).

I thought that I was the only one whose CB did that.

Thats "runaway corner" - a behavior that even the best CBs are showing. See my thread: http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=407741

(feel free to join in and share the opinion that this doesn't seem right)

Yes, I have 4 in super vision.

Okay this is really bothering me, because the SAME EXACT THING just happened to another corner of mine on another team

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=8202273

It just takes him out of the play right in the beginning, and makes him try to play catch-up for the rest of the time.

This receiver was a lower level than me, and I even have higher vision with this CB than I do with my other one. The FS also does the same thing on this play.

there it is..... Close. you have tight coverage, which is usually around a foot of separation. (i play football, You might recognize D.J. Johnson of the Atlanta Falcons from the 90's? he is my DB coach) You might also be playing a rudimentary form of Bump and Run.

It could be opposition QBs having a lot of Pump Fake or something. Or maybe your DCs are setting the team tactics to have a lot of zone (read: fail) coverage :\
