I think they should do away with it. There never really is 32 strong teams in it. If a top tier team wins the championship in a league multiple times, then they will more than likely take a season or 2 off. I know I would. I think it would allow for more competition and make tourneys worth more. Back in the day, the Halos tourney and pee wee cup was huge. It was a chance for big time teams to match up with each other when it could be their only chance to do so for the entire season. Now you could enter a couple of tourneys and end up playing the same team 5 times or more in one season,

There would be less burn out, breaks for all coordinators and they may eventually help out new coordinators. The way it works now, you have a great season in Silver and get promoted to gold and get killed in Gold. Most teams just give up. Ive watched a few teams on the up and then just fizzled out. I think Gold league is contributing to the death of all of pee wee. Thoughts?

I think they lost the college flavor, like the Big 12, SEC PAC10 etc etc

I like Gold League. It may not be ultra competitive from top to bottom, but neither is the NFL (have you seem Miami, Minnesota, Seatle, etc...?). I guess I don't see a reason to get rid of it. No offense LE, but my opinion is if you don't like Gold League, don't play in it.

I think that the gold league is definitely good for PW...it gives you something to shoot for.

I wasn't around until S13 though...so idk how anything was before it.

Get a Rookie League team and start climbing. Rockford is going Rookie next season.. If anybody is interested in building me a Boosted Rookie dot shoot me a PM.. I'm gonna try and see how well I can do at the upper levels. (Beyond University)

I think that gold league is not the problem. The problem is the number of silver and copper leagues. We need to have less silver leagues so each league is actually competitive and the copper leagues should probably be cut down as well. I think with the popularity of pee wee as it is now, we should go with a 1-4-4 system. Although I agree with this- Originally posted by LordEvil

That is a major issue in pee wee because when gold first existed, the system wasn't stable and there were some very good silver teams and silver talent, but now most silver teams are horrible and all the talent is in gold. Also, some of the gold teams have been here forever and just have an innate advantage over those who haven't. Who was the last gold team to win a title earlier than their 3rd or 4th season at least, not counting TIA because Gerr had been in gold for 9 or so seasons before that?

I think the biggest problem is the growing lack of interest in PeeWee. Most of the new guys that join aren't experienced dot builders or coordinators. They get killed and leave. There is no competition in Copper and very little in Silver. Even most decent silver teams only get 2-3 good games a season in their league, that's boring.

So gold is filled with old coordinators that know what they are doing and they just crush the noobs and fight amongst each other.

So on one hand I can see how if we got rid of gold it could be good. New coaches stick with it longer b/c there is a better chance to win their league (or at least do decently) than they would have in Gold where they'd likely only win 1-2 games. Tournaments would be more exciting, and there would be more discussion about who is the best like there used to be.

But on the other hand I think a lot of the current gold coordinators would get bored and leave if they only have to gameplan 3-5 league games.

How about a Rookie League vs. Pee Wee Tournament? That would be a fare fight correct? Would be cool to see how well Pee Wee Gold teams do vs. a top Rookie League team.

Problem is the Rookie teams are being built for long term.. so we would destroy them. Dony and I have built teams in the lower leagues and built the players like Pee Wee Gold players.. and it was a cake walk.

probably need to get rid of copper right now.. it's useless. The few teams in copper that have real players would at least be in Silver.

To me, tournaments wouldn't mean that much. Builds are not rounding out until Day 30ish - and that's not enough time to start a tourney.

I still like my idea of cutting down the Silver league from 8 leagues to 4 leagues and introduce promotions & demotions to/from Copper & Silver. That would make Silver a true medium level league. Just consider how much better the level of Silver would become if only the top half of all Silver teams made up the entire Silver league!

Lets suggest it and get it rolling before next season. Start a petition in suggestions. With the addition of rookies league it may be possible now to get this implemented.
