Build him like a normal DT. Mine's build like that and gets a few FF's every season. Also it's not very often a DT makes a tackle or sack so I'd really say make him like a normal DT.

83+ str
81+ agi
77+ tkl
77+ spd

Should work, and is what I'm working on atm.

HH DT's can get away with alittle less speed. I would go for :

86 strength, 84 agility, 78 tackling, 68 speed, 61 (make sure it ends 68+) vision.

AEQ: i would go 5% break block, 5% force fumble, and depending on how effeciently you built him and how much SP you have for SA's, either break thru, get low, first step, if you have plenty for SA's, then 5% make tackle.

VA's = variable and easily changeable.

If I wanted to just build a hard hitting run stuffer -

I would start off with strength at 25 and the rest of the sp placed into speed. Then adjust weight so that strength ended up at 26.44. I'd probably make him about 6-3 even though you take a hit to agility. Then single train strength while taking it to 68.94 at level 8.

Then unlock agility, tackling, and vision and multi-train those with strength while taking strength to the 83 cap. I'd continue quad training those until strength got to 98 while circle capping agility, tackling, and vision to 61, then taking agility and tackling to 68. Then I would swap out strength and start rotating between speed, stamina, and confidence. Then take agility and tackling to the 81 cap, then take agility to the 88 cap. I'd continue to quad train, and then I would cap speed, stamina, and confidence and start rotating between speed and stamina only. I'd second cap both of those. Then I'd end his career single training jumping.

I just don't think DT's get enough tackles to really justify it. Until inside running becomes legit again. Outside and offtackle rushes will continue to be the norm and restricting the # of DT tackles. What do I know though, things change all the time right?

I think if you went with a run stuffing DT with high tackling and 2 run stuffing DEs with high tackling you could move to a 3-4 base and still shut down the inside rushing.

SA=get low? works for DTs???

so, GLB DTs=no sacks+no tackles
no glamour position (100flexpoints)

They are 200 flex. But yes they are the red headed step child of GLB... Along with C's.

no. get low doesn't work for DTs. I think he was probably thinking one thing and typing another.

First step, break through, shed block, and wall are typically the best 4. Strong Base is another option. Personally, I'm skeptical on how much shed block and strong base really help though.
