Based on my very limited knowledge of the teams here in WEPL I threw together a top 8 power rankings for discussion. It’s based on perceived roster strength and the performance in the two first weeks of the pre-season.
1. Porto People Eaters
- Dominated Portland in the first week of the pre-season putting up 640 yards on offense. Followed up with a nice win today.
2. Portland Rage
- Being a run first team the changes to GLB this season should fit Portland very well and make them the team to beat in Alpha.
3. Hood Gods
- A young team that will hit their peak mid-season. Looks like the team to beat come playoff time.
4. A Team of Ice and Fire
- Beat Cincy in strong defensive showing in pre-season week 1. As, Portland, this team is running the ball effectively, but struggles throwing the ball. Without improving that part of the game, making it out of WEPL and up to the WL might prove difficult?
5. London Underground
- Lost by a score to Portland today after turning the ball over four times. Should challenge for a home playoff game this season.
6. Alpine
- Together with Hood, Alpine is the youngest team among the contenders this season. Might struggle a bit early, but should be ready to roll when the calendar says day 34.
7. Cincinnati Stoners
- Good win against Mexican today after a sad offensive showing against Ice and Fire in the first week of the pre-season.
8. Dirthy South Brew Crew
- 2 wins so far this pre-season with a nice mix of veteran dots and younger guys.
