Ok folks, I am new to the WR world and figured I would check one out. I am planning on the slow build tactic for this guy. WOuld like some input from the vets to see if this type of tactic would make sense.

Here is my lvl 1: http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=635018

My plan is to train my speed up to around 18/19 as I get lvl 4. This will give me 30 sp's to spend. I plan on putting all of those into speed, to have speed hit the 48 cap.

Once I hit lvl 7 , I plan on having my agility to 18/19 as well as catching and hopefully vision (although both might be unlikely). I will boost 3 lvls and spend roughly 30 points to cap my agility at the 48 hard cap. I will not boost until the last day at the end of the season so I can maximize my training.

This puts me at lvl 10. My speed will most likely be in the 50's with agility close behind. From this point on my vision/jumping and catching will be worked up and I can use equipment to mask any deficencies in these categories.

Does this make sense or am I going about this in a completely incorrect manner?

I wouldn't boost then. I would wait and level up in the D-leagues.

I adopting a similar tactic with one of my WRs except I'm applying all my skill points into speed as I get them and training the other important skills for a WR.

I plan to hit the 48.2 soft cap early as well and then concentrate on agility and vision. I should hit the soft cap by level 5 or 6 so I should have a couple of level ups to get my agility and vision up.

Like you at the end of the season I will then be boosting my players 3 more levels and I will then spread out these skill points over agility/vision and catching.

I'm on a D-League team so I can see no harm in having a WR that does nothing for a year but allows me to get a good start to his build, then move to a human team during the offseason and then concentrate on improving areas to increase stats.

Would mean that a retarded 3 year old wouldn't think you were smart either?

18/19 is too low. Take it to 24-25 even if you have to wait 20 more days. Best investment EVER! You only get +0.33 extra to speed from being over the soft cap. Keep training until you either have enough to hit the +3 soft cap at 60 or you are getting less than 0.33 TOTAL from daily training between levels.
