It seems like, unless you have an amazing Offensive line cooped with at least 2 great HBs and a Strong FB, its almost impossible to put up the same rushing #s as Passing #s. Look around you guys, most teams are favoring the pass at least 50% more than the run.

I though bort made it so it was the other way around, and passing was going to become less effective? We have been trying to biuld a great running game all year, but no matter what we do, we just can't seem to do it. passing is always more effective. Even WITH all the INT that are thrown, it seems like people will still go with passing. And then when they score alot, the other team has to Pass to catch up. It's a neverending cycle of pass and pass.

Wheres the solid football that happens in the pros? Wheres the 180 avg rushing yrds a game by the teams? I know it happens occasionaly, and some teams can do it, But when a team is not very good offensivly in the NFL, they usaually shorten the game and run. But here, if you try and shorten the game and run, you never score any TDs.

I know some of you good running teams may be offended, but look at all the top teams! at least 60% of the teams in the league are passing oriented. And of those 60%, at least half have no running game at all!

Even the Patriots, debatedly the best passing team ever, had a running game to lean back on. So how realistic is this game really? Is this just a problem that will eventually go away? Is it a problem? Does anyone else see this but me?

no the pats didnt
that why it was so amazing. the Pats did this despite the lack of a running game. people focus on the run and still could stop them which is pretty amazing

look at the OKC Spartans they clearly dont favor the pass and actually have more running yards than passing

The Nighthawks have rushed many more times than passed over the last four, and we're doing OK. Unless you're talking about yards per attempt, I'd say the rush is pretty effective. Of course we do have (How did you put it?) an "amazing Offensive line cooped with at least 2 great HBs and a Strong FB." Yeah, maybe that's the reason it's been working for us.

I was pretty surprised to see that very few teams are averaging 4 yards a pop on the ground. Of course we're one of them, so I don't really give a shit.

???????????? lacking a running game??? Laurence Maroney??? Kevin Faulk??? are you serious??? Laurence Maroney has THE best stiff arm in the game of football. He is probably THE strongest runningback in football. Kevin Faulk has yet to not have a clutch play for the Patriots. Every time he gets the ball he gets the first down. Don't give me that crap that the patriots have no running game, it was a big reason the passing game worked so well.

me too but dont go shooting off about maroney. I am an avid fan watch every game. Go to at least one a year. Listen to pfw in progess. and I got to tell you maroney still hasnt taken a turn for greatness yet. Faulk on the other hand is the best third down back I have ever seen. If you need one he'll get you one. If you need 15 he'll damn sure try to get you 15. When he is off the whole offense is off.

Sammie Morris was a monster before he got hurt. He made maroney twice the player. I'm hoping we see that all season long next year.

Um, yeah, Sammy Morris was the reason, THE ONLY REASON, the Patriots looked like they had a running game all year, until he got hurt. Moroney is a bust. I give him one more year, if he's lucky. Bill won't wait for him all year.

Another perfectly good thread hijacked by Boston fanatics. Maybe you guys should start your own forum.

Now your just saying that hoping the next team you play will set there def to pass. Once they do you will crush them with your cleats under your running game MUHAHAHAHAHAH.

I just wish they would give us more specific options individual players on offense. or the ability to use different formations, Ie; West coast offense and things of that nature. I think this would help open up more teams offense in general.
