Michael Wilbon: Pardon the Interruption, but I'm Mike Wilbon.

Michael Wilbon: Tony, BDC made a ridiculous acoustic recruiting song to pick up dots this season. If we had a song, what would it be called?

Tony Kornheiser: And I'm Tony Kornheiser.

Tony Kornheiser: Having my baby?

Michael Wilbon: Whoa...

Tony Kornheiser: Isn't that a lovely way to say how much you love me?

Michael Wilbon: I was thinking more like the thong song.

Tony Kornheiser: Never heard of it...

Tony Kornheiser: Welcome to PTI Boys and Girls, in todays Episode we talk about the Return of an OPL great, The STACKED Alpha Conference, and We play a little over under.

Tony Kornheiser: But we start today with the news that EEA has managed to dodge demotion and remains in the WL. Smart move on their part Wilbon?

Michael Wilbon: I think so Tony. Everyone wants to play in the World League, its the best of the best.

Tony Kornheiser: Yeah but they had to be one of the favorites in OPL next season, with the smallest roster turnaround of a subpar WL roster. They could have easily came here and cleaned house don't you think?

Michael Wilbon: It's possible, but certainly not a guarantee. BDC, Buda, Dev, Nites, and Pirates all could easily contend for the title next season.

Tony Kornheiser: So what's their motivation to stay up there?

Michael Wilbon: Because its the World League. It's where every team wants to go.

*ding*

Tony Kornheiser: Not Kai...

Michael Wilbon: Yeah but they're a bunch of mouth breathers...

Michael Wilbon: Speaking of World League demotions, So Cal BDC returns to the OPL after 8 long seasons of World League competition.

Michael Wilbon: Tony your boys are back! How excited are you?

Tony Kornheiser: They're home Wilbon, they're home. They took a long vacation, played with the big boys, but OPL's pride and joy returns home to pay a visit for a season or two.

Michael Wilbon: OPL's pride and joy?

Tony Kornheiser: Certainly don't you think?

Tony Kornheiser: I mean you really don't think West Scranton is still the face of OPL do you?

Michael Wilbon: Who says there has to be a face? Why can't they just be a really good OPL team?

Tony Kornheiser: Because, every league needs a face! SLAP you think Kai, EEPL you think Odessa or Hood, WEPL you think Alpine or Korb. When you think of OPL you think BDC!

Michael Wilbon: And what about the Gurupies?

Tony Kornheiser: Well certainly them too. Though late to the game, they certainly have represented OPL well.

Michael Wilbon: Minus maybe one or two knuckleheads..

*ding*

Tony Kornheiser: Yeah well every team has an idiot or two in their ranks.

Tony Kornheiser: Moving on what looks to be a very competitive OPL season..... well at least in one conference.

Tony Kornheiser: Wilbon with a division that arguably contains 4 out of the 5 best teams in OPL, how can you even make a case to watch anything that goes on in Zeta this season?

Michael Wilbon: It's hard Tony, it's really hard. I mean I want to be the devils advocate to the popular opinion here, but it's really tough.

Tony Kornheiser: It's impossible! Alpha is STACKED!

Michael Wilbon: It's the old meat grinder back in action only this time it's in Alpha.

Tony Kornheiser: Exactly!

Michael Wilbon: It's truly going to be exciting to watch.

Tony Kornheiser: Rumor has it Wilbon, that any of these teams could have easily moved over to Zeta and had a free ride with only the Pirates standing in their way.

Michael Wilbon: But they didn't. Everyone is manning up.

*ding*

Tony Kornheiser: It's going to be a blood bath...

Michael Wilbon: Can't wait.

Michael Wilbon: Keeping on that topic Tone, Season 22 is rapidly approaching. Who are your early favorites? Who are your dark horses? And who do you got winning it all?

Tony Kornheiser: Well let's start off with the easy conference.... Zeta.

Tony Kornheiser: Pirates. Pirates. And ummmm. Oh yeah Pirates.

Michael Wilbon: That's all you got?

Tony Kornheiser: What more do you want me to say? They slipped up last season, their only competition is gone, and as long as they don't goof again they have the conference championship in the bag!

Michael Wilbon: I wouldn't say it's that certain.

Tony Kornheiser: Are you nuts?

Michael Wilbon: No I'm not nuts! This is GLB. Anything can happen. Sure maybe the Pirates are the favorites in Zeta but there are a few guys that can give them a run for their money.

Tony Kornheiser: Like who?

Michael Wilbon: The Vipers have always been a solid squad. Kona looks to be very good this season. Komodo will definitely put some heat on them. Then theres also some young up and comers like Rhinocopters, Amsterdam, and Compton.

Tony Kornheiser: All above par teams, but definitely not on the Pirates level.

Michael Wilbon: Yeah we'll see...

Tony Kornheiser: Then there's Alpha. Wilbon can you guess who I have winning it all here?

Michael Wilbon: Real hard one here. Let me see. BDC maybe?

Tony Kornheiser: You betcha!

Michael Wilbon: Very surprising Tone.

Tony Kornheiser: And let me guess, you don't?

Michael Wilbon: No I don't.

Tony Kornheiser: Shocker!

Michael Wilbon: I don't even have them as the favorites going in. If you've actually been watching these preseason games, they're struggling quite a bit.

Tony Kornheiser: What?!?! These are lolscrims, how can the results of these hold any merit?

Michael Wilbon: Because we know the purpose of these scrims. Its to get a feel for your team, this sim, and your gameplan moving forward. And either BDC doesn't have the team, or are struggling to get it together...

Tony Kornheiser: You're reading into too much! BDC has always got it. Slow starts are not uncommon for them.

Michael Wilbon: I'll believe it when I see it...

Tony Kornheiser: So who you got?

Michael Wilbon: I think it will come down to Devonport and Buda, with Devonport being the slight favorites at this point.

Tony Kornheiser: So BDC is 3rd?

Michael Wilbon: I would say top 5. I say they'll battle it out with the 'Nites, Kingston and Michelin Men.

Tony Kornheiser: You truly are nuts...

Michael Wilbon: How so?

Tony Kornheiser: You're saying a perennial World League playoff team might not even earn a 1st round home playoff game?

Michael Wilbon: I'm not saying they won't but in this tough conference it's certainly possible.

*ding*

Tony Kornheiser: You're a hater...

Michael Wilbon: I'm not a hater.

Tony Kornheiser: Now it's time for the game where I am always right, and Wilbon's always wrong.

Tony Kornheiser: Over Under with your host Anthony Joseph Fergalicious Reali

Tony Reali: No loving on the lady lumps today boys.

Tony Reali: Over / Under: 12 opening day wins for Alpha.

Michael Wilbon: While Alpha is stacked, they're not that stacked. Only 3 wins for an entire conference is unheard of. I am going to say Under.

Tony Kornheiser: This one is easy. Alpha is super stacked! Just quickly looking over the schedule I can only see two guaranteed wins for Zeta.

Michael Wilbon: And you honestly don't think Zeta will squeak out 2 out of the remaining 14?

Tony Kornheiser: You didn't let me finish.

Tony Kornheiser: I also see 10 guaranteed wins for the Alpha conference which leaves 4 games Wilbon.

Tony Kornheiser: And do I give the better conference the edge in all 4 of those games? YES!

Tony Kornheiser: Over!

Michael Wilbon: Wow, I am surprised you can do math...

Tony Reali: Next up, Over / Under: 2nd Place in Alpha for BDC.

Tony Kornheiser: Well I already said BDC is winning it all so I am staying consistent and say Over.

Michael Wilbon: 2nd isn't a bad spot for BDC.

Tony Kornheiser: What!?!?! Speaking of inconsistent!

Michael Wilbon: How am I inconsistent? Just because I said it will come down to Devonport and Buda doesn't mean BDC can't finish 2nd in the regular season.

Tony Kornheiser: So you're going to push?

Michael Wilbon: Yes, push.

Tony Kornheiser: Pushing is for wimps, go big or go home.

Tony Reali: Wilbon pulling the push card.

Tony Reali: Next up, Over / Under: 3 Playoff wins for the Pirates.

Tony Kornheiser: If I go over, that means I think the Pirates will go to the championship game. Which I think they will, so Over.

Michael Wilbon: I think I am going to go Over too. While some teams may give them a run for their money, I think its their year.

Tony Reali: And finally, Over / Under: 1 OPL team returns from the World League next season.

Tony Kornheiser: Well the only team I think has a chance to remain are the Gurupies. However I think that's why the over under is set at one.

Tony Kornheiser: I really don't think EEA or Sumatra will make it, and I refuse to be like Wilbon and push so I will say under.

Michael Wilbon: You think I am going to push?

Tony Kornheiser: I know you're going to push.

Michael Wilbon: EEA almost remained in the WL last season.

Tony Kornheiser: Almost doesn't cut it unless you beg, plead, and hope a remaining team guts.

Michael Wilbon: I am just saying they have a punchers chance.

Tony Kornheiser: So you're going over?

Michael Wilbon: No I think i'll push.

Tony Kornheiser: HA!

Tony Kornheiser: Over / Under is OVER! Only a few minutes left, lets go to the big finish.

Michael Wilbon: Let's do it.

Tony Kornheiser: Devonport versus Pirates opening day. Wilbon who ya got?

Michael Wilbon: I am taking Devonport in a close one.

Michael Wilbon: Tony, both the Orwell Cup and the Magellan Cup are in play this season. How do you like our chances?

Tony Kornheiser: We're winning both!!

Tony Kornheiser: BDC and the 'Nites will meet in Week 4 to break the head to head tie they've had for a long time now. Wilbon who you got?

Michael Wilbon: Giving the slight edge to BDC for now.

Michael Wilbon: nthomas has Alpha going 13-3 on opening day. Over confident Tony?

Tony Kornheiser: No he's right on par with my pick. Great minds think alike!

Tony Kornheiser: Plankton dropped a hint that he has BDC as the #1 team heading into the season. You know I agree with that, how about you Wilbon?

Michael Wilbon: Too High! Too High!

*ding*

Tony Kornheiser: Times Up! We'll try and do better the next time.

Tony Kornheiser: I'm Tony Korneiser.

Michael Wilbon: And I'm Mike Wilbon, same time tomorrow knuckle heads.

Michael Wilbon: Good luck to all the OPL teams on a great Season 22!

Tony Kornheiser: Goodnight Canada.

Awesome!

And if I ever finish up my preseason write-up, you got it right. So Cal is my preseason favorite.

Devonport still has alot of work to do, especially on the D side (calling out myself here).
