One thing I learned that may help you is work Jumping vision catching speed agility all at the same tiem when you level and day train between confidence and str.

you have absolutly no concept on how to build a player, and it makes me sad that people like you are allowed to give advice

ANY position has 1-3 skills that they are going to want over 50 someday, please tell me how it makes sense to not get those skills to 49 (where your attributes start costing 2 skill points per burn) so that your "free" points you get when you level count as more

it literally makes me sad to see a level 16 Oliner without a base 49 stren/blocking, a DT w/o 49 stren, a WR w/o 49 speed

yea you're gonna suck til you hit level 8-10 but guess what...your player is going to be SOOO much better long term because my level 16 C is going to have 70 stren/blocking and sit level 20s on their asses daily, and have the stamina to roster 1 - my level 16 WR is going to burn DBs 20+ and laugh as he catches the ball in double coverage

people need to get out of this balanced mentality, and build for the extreme

if you're a WR - get 49 speed by level 5, if you're a DB you should do the same lmao, Oline shouldnt put points into anything but stren/blocking until it caps out, Dline guess what you need to counter the Oliners and get your stren to 49 ASAP

Actually I don't think you have a concept of how to build a player. I lead my team in catches last year because I worked all my attributes up at the same time. There were WR on my team that had 60+ speed before me and had about 5 times the drops because they were lacking in other areas. As a WR you need the 5 attributes as high as possible as soon as possible. The str and confidence will only help. Bort has said numerous times that confidence is the most over looked stat. Guess what I'm thinking he is right. If you drop one pass your in game morale goes down and you keep dropping passes.

Actually a tricky discussion , because you could both be right .

Maybe it is more effective in the long run to focus on a few skills early on and then boosting the others over time , and when you hit the higher levels you are a beast .

Might also be as effective to simply keep it balanced all the way and still be good .

I think it's about finding the great combination between these ones , focusing on it all , but still have a few skills you boost more than others .

I'm using the combination ATM , hoping to see an effect in the long run .

first off... WALL OF TEXT

2nd - congrats you are a lowbie prodigy, you're beating up on people now that will wreck you in 2 seasons - yes you're nice and balanced now but how high are you planning on taking your confidence/catching/jumping/whatever

much past the soft cap? probably not

how high are you going to want your speed/agi some day?

past the soft cap? probably

again if you understand that until level 10 (1 season cry me a river) your player is lopsided and will not perform as well as someone who is balanced. once you hit that mark though and you start balancing out your skills you will be better for it

i've had my speed on my WR at the soft cap since level 6-7, that is 5+ levels of getting free points into speed - so that nice little .33 stat boost you get for leveling, is actually worth .66 to me - explain how that isn't more worthwhile

my level 12 C has been soft capped on stren/blocking for a while now - every time he levels he gets 1 free point in stren + blocking - which you guessed it, means in truth he is getting +2 skill points

when he levels tomorrow im going to boost/custom equip him and he will be sitting on 68 stren/block, 32 stamina, and 20 free skill points - explain to me how i dont know how to build players

im sorry? what do you mean you will gain more for each level? how does that work

you gain .33 speed per level regardless so when you hit the soft cap you will still gain .33 despite it costing double the amount of points

each time you level you get 'x' number of skill points automatically allocated towards your primary and secondary skills, there is a post hiding somewhere in the newbies forum section that explains how much and whatnot, dont feel like digging it up

but once you hit 48-49 in 1 attribute they start to cost you 2 for 1 - so if you get you skill to the "softcap" of 48-49 your "free" points that go into your skill every level are twice as valuable obviously - im waiting for someone to hit the next soft cap so i can swear and curse that i didnt pump my speed to 100 right away or something

you sir understand how to build for the future

if you actually want to be more anal about getting "bang for your buck" - store up your points and daily train strength until you have enough to just pop it right to 49, then repeat for blocking

you'll suck even harder early on but again playing for long term will do that

Very nice, sir.

I quoted you in another thread and had doubts about how you could get certain categories so high, but after reading this beautiful little bit of information I'm starting to understand.. reading this makes me want to start a few of my players over now, damn.

haha yea luckily i did a LOT of reading after making my first few players and noticed what would be a good trend early im quite happy with my results now that they're all balancing out now and about to hit their level 16 mark

to be honest with the majority of my players having soft capped their key skills, im now running out of places i want to put points lmao - guess its a good problem to have haha

It looks a lot like the back of Chad Johnson.
