Well, we were a bit disgruntled yesterday and it started a chain reaction. My SS James Highsmith was released and signed with AA Louisville Whales. Then my owner decided to move a few of his players over to the Whales. Well since the Rage was a team of friends, a lot of our higher ranked players decided to go to AA with us. We took 6 players on defense and put them on AA team (all starters now). 3 of our players got GM jobs. This all was a result of our owner deciding to sell the team and all of our players wanting to stay together. We gave all of our players the option to stay or leave. If they wanted to leave they could come with us or just be cut.

Notable players in the move:
WR Chris Ball will be moved tomorrow
SS James Highsmith (19)
LB Bo Steele (17)
FS Ryan Bradstreet (20)
CB Brady Watts (18)
LB J.B. Fitzgerald (18)
DE Beasty B. Grahme (18)

The difference between this and ALB is that we moved up to a better league and it was not planned at all. Just friends staying together virtue of a new cool owner I met.

I'll be GMing the Rage the rest of the year so I'll check by the forum daily...our new forum AA #1 sucks.

BTW, more then half the Rage is inactive...what a surprise once they wake up!

mgoblue, I'm just curious, what the hell triggered this? Was it the inactives (including GM's) on the squad? I won't even bother to ask if PM's were sent or responded to, because the result of that is obvious... I'm just trying to get my head around why an owner would respond this way, given a competetive team with a winning record.

(And by no means do I want to start a flame-war on the topic, but posts from any other participants or sides involved would at least help clarify things...)

Holy Crap! I've never seen so many inactive tags on a 3rd season roster! Something is definately up, and to be honest, I think you did the right thing by moving up and moving on... There's got to be something else behind this, but you've done best to avoid it, and taking the high road by staying on as a GM...

If any of your players like the league but don't want to stay on the team, the Maroons might be looking for some depth at some spots, particularly CB and DT I would imagine. Haven't asked Dpfount about it, but those are two positions we are thin at.
I know how much it sucks to be on a team once it's sold. Awesomus retired his pretty good OG because of the owner not releasing him and just retired to get the flex points back before a new owner came in and could mess with him.

wait, I don't get it. The owner of the Rage is selling the team and moving his players based on inactivity of some players on the team? Why doesn't he just keep the group that is active and then try to trade/replace the inactive ones? Makes a lot more sense the picking up a group of players and leaving. Or was he just tired of owning a team? That kinda sucks, I liked what the Rage guys brought to this forum.

The owner also got tired of owning...and Chris Ball could be a pro league player so him moving up was bound to happen.

You asked the same thing I was going to ask....Same exact question.

BTW, did all active players get the memo, and a choice to stay or leave? I mean it's not fair to them, if they get stuck with a long term deal, and don't get a say in what happens to their players.

I do give you credit for staying on till the end of the season.
