It turns off when you get within 7 points, so it'll never work for a field goal that will get your team ahead or tied. If you're on a team that fall behind quickly, it might go for TDs instead of really long FGs (which is all Big Heart will help).
It'll help, but I don't see as much value in it for kickers.

Kicker on losing team had maxed Big heart, they were pretty much behind by 14-21 the whole game.
He kicked 9 touchbacks... but this is really situational and would NEVER happen on a basis to justify this VA. Generally when you have this many KO opportunities you are winning, and like chocoburgers said, it'll never help you win/tie, and they tend to go for TD's late game when they are behind by that much.
