Haven't watched many games for a while, but I watched this one and was impressed with the D gameplan on both sides of the ball.

If it wasn't past midnight and having 3 kids asleep upstairs I would have vocalised my thoughts when Dizzy broke that 94 yarder!

That was when the first expletive came out of my mouth. I felt like we were in the game up until that point.

Sumatra - Asau highlights:

Asau gets the ball first and Mark Ingram Lemmond breaks off a 42-yard run, not a good start for Sumatra:

But two plays later we get our first break as Ubass's CB, Rain Maker picks off an errant Greg Lemmond pass and returns it 32-yards into their territory:

We turn that into a TD and miraculously keep Asau off the board in the first half. Then we get a TD on the first drive of the 2nd half and amazingly we are up 21-0:

Again, getting TD's each time we got in the red zone would prove to be huge. Asau finally gets on track and drives right back getting a TD on this Deathcicle rush for 10-yards:

Now I just want us to hang on and not turn the ball over! But when you start thinking like that, the turnovers come! Air McNair throws it into traffic and is picked off by Your Nightmare Hath Come True, who returns it deep into Sumatra territory:

We get a FG to go up 24-14. Then we trade punts with them a few times. The clock is running though so I am happy. They finally put together a great drive keyed by this 38-yard pass play:

This short TD run cashes it in and with a little over two-minutes left we are only up by a FG:

Sumatra 24 - Asau 21

We run three times but cannot get the first and have to punt. They take over with 1:45 left and one TO. After a first down incompletion, Little Crackrat comes charging in for a 6-yard sack:

So 3rd and 16 with 1:19 left. Sure enough they pickup the first down on this 20-yard pass from Lemmond to Jerry Rice:

Then with 1:04 left they get an 18-yard connection on 1st down:

That has them at our 32.5, certainly within FG range. Now I am worried about them scoring a TD. They convert a 3rd down after using their last timeout and are now facing a 1st and 10 with :16 left at our 21. Inexplicably they run a play instead of kicking a FG. It is a 3.5-yard loss and time expires:

Sumatra wins! Lucky as hell but I will take it! Great job by Asau and a great season by them as well!

Horrible Error in the offensive AI. Sad way to lose a game. Also, we should not have played Buda Pests that much. Too many agents from multiple teams able to see and scout us from it.

Agree about the AI oversight, but not a single GM on Buda and Sumatra. One of the reasons we played so much was that there was very little overlap between teams either of us may face.

Ya, we didn't get any Buda related inside info. All the credit goes to HCreek27 on the D side and The Big Cack Envy on the OAI.
