Regular season game QCBC 111-19

With this matchup we find the juggernaut Cats facing off against the air attack of Sons of Flutie. The regular season game got ugly when the Cats matched them pass for pass and then some. QC didn't bother to utilize much of the running game against them. Giving up 14 sacks really hurt the sons during this game. This time around we will likely see more of the same. I fully expect the Sons to tighten up the D and increase the QB protection, but they lack the firepower to fully compete with the Cats.
Counterpoint
This being said, they cannot take the Sons to lightly, they did manage to put up decent yardage on them. Some broken plays and they could make a game of it.
iPlayoff Prediction
67 - 15 Queen City Black Cats def. The Bastard Sons of Doug Flutie
#4 Niagara Maulers

#5 Algoma Arena Rockers

Regular Season game Niagara 35-20

The fourth seed Maulers match up against the fifth seed Rockers. These two just faced one another in the season finale. Knowing the potential was there, both played their cards close to the vest, not really showing much. Both teams cut loose now. Factors to effect the game will be the home field of the Maulers, vs the freshly boosted (likely not showing in current SP value) Rockers. Rockers get the nod by keeping the more powerful Mauler off the field and being closer matched this time with the upgrades.
Counterpoint
If the Rockers do not maintain ball control the air attack of the Mauler will mean trouble for them
iPlayoff Prediction
19 - 15 Algoma Arena Rockers def. Niagara Maulers
#2 Manitoba Matadors

Regular Season Matadors 35-29

The Alcoholics visit the second seed Matadors. These two had a very good game the during the regular season and we will see more of the same this time. The key to the game is Passing. Can RA's defense slow down the Matadors passing game. They allowed 21 of 27 with a 12.8 yard average. Cant allow a first down every pass and expect to win the game. Matadors win in a close one again, just to much air power for Raging to keep under wraps.
Counterpoint
A good ball control gameplan and some D changes could tilt this into Ragings favor.
iPlayoff Prediction
24 - 18 Manitoba Matadors def. Raging Alcoholics
#3 Thunder Bay Wolverines

Not sure if there was a closer matched game this season for the regular season game between these two. Almost every stat of the game between the two were within a small percentage of each others. Almost mirror images. This game will be more of the same. Its not going to be who starts the fight, but who finishes it. The Wolverines showed they had more staying power this season than the Rippers who have consistently lost games in the fourth qtr by a small margin. Wolverines in another close one.
Counterpoint
This game really could swing either way. The teams GM's know one another, similar game styles. A big play in the second quarter could easily swing this in the favor the Rippers.
iPlayoff Prediction
21 - 20 Thunder Bay Wolverines def. Yorkshire Rippers
