yea its weird with me, I'm from the states and love football but I used to play dsoccer and was gonna try and play d1 for it but decided against, I always like good soccer matches though, almost as much as I love watching the pack or the eagles(gotta cheer for the hometeam because if they are winning there's always parties, sadly not everyone likes Brett favre as much as I do, or Ryan grant for that matter even though our high school played his old high school I'n the football playoffs last year)

I think it's more to do with the weekend than with anything else.

I love when ignorant people rag on a sport they don't understand.

There are plenty of passionate American soccer fans - myself among them. The difference is that that non-fans delight in insulting the sport - syptomatic of an unfortunately American mentality...don't understand something? Must be crap. Belittle it.

Now please, tell me how you understand the rules of soccer, so you actually understand the game.

I had season tickets for FC Basel for 4 years. I understand the game just fine.

As a sport, it's only OK. Too much flopping and the field is too large. That is all.
