After a small hiatus, I'm back with some power rankings. I had hoped that while I was busy, you guys would sort out where your teams ought to be, but it looks like it is just as confusing as it ever was.

At least the first couple are easy.

Top Ten

#1 (Last Week: 1) - Cypriot Freedom (11-0) - Cypriot just keeps on rolling. They only have two more games that they could possibly lose (and that is a stretch), with one of them being their next game against Sin City. Thus, a win basically locks up the top seed in Alpha, and likely all of the playoffs. They should get that win. Next opponent - Sin City Silent Assassins (Prediction - Cypriot by 28

#2 (Last Week: 2) - Devonport Devils (10-1) - Devonport has not played flawless dotball since my last writeup, but we have done enough to keep from losing, and beaten some pretty good teams. We get a break now, as we finally get to play a true gimme game. Next opponent - Florida BeachDogZ (Prediction - Devonport by 70+)

#3 (Last Week: 3) - Eastern European Alliance (10-1) - Barring a major upset, EEA has all but locked up the top seed in Zeta. Of their remaining games, only GCV has shown the skills to possibly pull off that upset, by virtue of their performance against Asau. They don't have much to worry about this week, as they should handle San Diego just fine. Next opponent - San Diego Supa Chargers (Prediction - EEA by 42)

#4 (Last Week: 4) - Asau Pirates (10-1) - Seahawk said it best in his writeup. Asau can not sleep on Oregon or Sumatra, but I think they will handle them fine and end up the #2 seed in Zeta. This week they face an Oberon team that has played the top teams respectably, but does not have the team to pull off an upset. Next opponent - Oberon Bulls (Prediction - Asau by 45)

#5 (Last Week: 7) - Banzai Pipeline Nites (9-2) - I get why they were dropped last week, but if you really look at the competition and results, you will see that Banzai has beaten several teams in the 8 - 12 range, where Oregon and Sumatra really have not. Banzai is about to start a 4 game stretch during which they will either prove they belong here or prove their doubters right and drop down. Even though they still have to play Cypriot, they have a two game lead on the teams tied for #4, so they control their own destiny for the #3 seed. Next opponent - Boston Bulldogs (Prediction - Banzai by 7)

#6 (Last Week: 5) - Oregon Ducks (9-2) - I have a ton of respect for this team and would not be surprised to see them earn their way into the top 5 before it is all said and done. However, they have only won one game against the meat of Zeta. They play 4 of their last 5 games against Zeta playoff teams, so they have some work to do still. Next opponent - Sumatra Sea Hawks (Prediction - Oregon by 7)

#7 (Last Week: 10) - Sumatra Sea Hawks (10-1) - I don't really believe that Zeta deserves 4 teams in the top 7. In the various ranked and regular season games, Alpha has won the vast majority of them. However, the mashup that is Alpha's 4 - 11 teams makes it hard to put the better Zeta teams any lower. Next opponent - Oregon Ducks (Prediction - Oregon by 7)

#8 (Last Week: 8) - Bora Bora Bangaroos (7-4) - Bora Bora played Cypriot relatively close (at least compared to most teams) and probably deserves to be slightly higher. I still don't get the loss to Boston, but they have played good dotball excluding that one game. They get an easier opponent this week, altho Hong Kong played Boston tough this last game. Next opponent - Hong Kong Voodoo (Prediction - Bora Bora by 30)

#9 (Last Week: 9) Boston Bulldogs (7-4) - Boston is an enigma wrapped in a mystery. I am certain that the care level is just not there (although why anyone pays to play this game and not try is beyond me). They follow up two signature wins over Sin City and Bora, with a pretty big loss to Cypriot and a nail-biter over Hong Kong. They maintain their top 10 spot because I can not find a reason to rank any of the other teams over them. They close out with 5 games that are not gimmes, so they better ratchet up the care or they could still miss the playoffs. Next opponent - Banzai Pipeline 'Nites (Prediction - Banzai by 7)

#10 (Last Week: 5) - Stockholm Black Death (7-4) - I bet no one saw this last loss coming. Stockholm was looking like a team that could push the top of Alpha and then suddenly lose to a team that may not even make the playoffs. I still think Stockholm is a very dangerous team, but their ranking had to drop with that loss. They go on the road to Gold Coast this week, and have a chance to prove that loss was a fluke. If they do not win, they will lose valuable ground in the race for the 4 seed and the home game it grants. Next opponent - Gold Coast Michelin Men (Prediction - Stockholm by 10)

Rest of the Pack
#11 (12) Sin City Silent Assassins (7-4)
#12 (11) 6th Street Savage Swarm (7-4)
#13 (14) - Gold Coast Michelin Men (7-4)
#14 (13) - Gold Coast Vipers (7-4)
#15 (16) - Death Dealers (6-5)
#16 (17) - Offtopica Miracle (5-6)
#17 (15) - San Diego Supa Chargers (7-4)
#18 (18) - IC Incinerators (5-6)
#19 (19) - Indianola Longhorn Legends (6-5)
#20 (20) - Oberon Bulls (6-5)
#21 (21) - Volgograd Black Army (3-8)
#22 (22) - Tasmanian Muskrats (4-6)
#23 (24) - Hong Kong Voodoo (3-8)
#24 (23) - Saipan Sin-Eaters (3-8)
#25 (25) - Addict Nation (2-9)
#26 (26) - Fortaleza Prowlers (2-9)
#27 (27) - Florida BeachDogZ (1-10)
#28 (28) - Warriors of Oceania (2-9)
#29 (29) - 8 Mile Assault (1-10)
#30 (30) - Urban Super Dogs (1-10)
#31 (31) - Fairview Heights Fireflies (1-10)
#32 (32) - Motown Legends (0-11)

Glad you are back, Plank. Boston has been pretty up-and-down, especially early on in the season due to low chem, ownership change, and lolcares.

It will be a fun final stretch and playoffs though with Alpha going 11 deep this season.

Should be a good one. Debating on whether to use our last premium promo on the Ducks or save it for Asau.

Both very good. Tough choice.

Some interesting results in Alpha so far. Just goes to show you that no one can accurately predict GLB outcomes 100% of the time.

In particular, well done Hong Kong! Making up an almost 100 SP difference is pretty huge IMO.

Yes, that was a shocker. If Banzai beats puts a muzzle on the Bulldogs there will be 7 teams in Alpha at 7-5!
