Week 9 Predictions
Usual disclaimer: this is my opinion only. If you don’t like it, I still love you.
Continuing the ever popular video game theme, this week is ARCADE week.
Naga
Game Of The Week
Krungthep Garudas (7-1) v Semarang Red Bulls (7-1)
This game has it all and it’s a true marquee GoTW. Two legendary teams that can still ball in today’s GLB collide for what is likely to be one of the top two seeds at the end of the season. This is also a matchup of the top two offenses in the conference. Something must give as the two teams run the Naga Gauntlet http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhVb54ha6Po Much like the earlier Garudas/Monks game, this one should come down to the last few minutes or even seconds. Garudas 38, Semarang 35
Other Games
Palembang Drunken Monks (8-0) v Golden Hill Bones (3-5)
GHB is only 1 game out of the 8 seed right now, but they better start putting together a win steak or two or they could be in trouble. It might have to wait until after this game though as the Monks seem to be able to Out Run http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOVJqLgGcq8 most of their opponents. Monks 42, GHB 13
Victoria Teabaggers (7-1) v Hong Kong Hustlers (6-2)
If it weren’t for the sick GoTW we have this time, this game would be it. It should be a dandy. This one should have more action than Europe did in 1943 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9gxLTunWfs but in a more positive way ofc. I’m exciting to see HKH’s vaunted run game against VT’s nasty D. VT 27, HKH 24
Woody Island Wolverines (6-2) v Benton Harbor Havoc (4-4)
BHH looked a lot more impressive against the Smurfs than I thought they would and could be dangerous here. On the other hand, WW actually played the Red Bulls a lot closer than the score would indicate. This could be a bit like Mortal Kombat http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pYOIJvTwPo by the end. WW 35, BHH 27
Sainte Foy Cyclones (5-3) v Tibetan Drunk Monks (1-7)
SFC very quietly recovered from a 3 game losing streak that had people questioning whether they were legit. No more. TDM’s main goal is to stick around to play this matchup again next season, otherwise they’ll be taking the Crazy Taxi http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HoNrBbAphMY to regionals. SFC 42, TDM 10
The Outlaw Hustlers (4-4) v Dayton Blackhawks (0-8)
TOH desperately needs a win to stay relevant after getting housed by PDP and dropping 4 straight. Dayton has looked much improved and will try to steal one here before they’re in a Time Crisis http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXnQ22DEJB8 to maintain their SEA status. TOH 30, Dayton 24
Orland Praying Mantis (3-5) v Portland Dirty Penguins (2-6)
Unbelievably, PDP is only 2 games out of the playoff race despite a horrendous start and they seem to be getting better by the minute. OPM is heading the other direction after a strong start to the season. Probably a bad combination. You know PDP would like to pull off the seemingly impossible by lining up their Golden Tee http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haDhQLvYxys for the playoffs. PDP 42, OPM 28
Royal Blue Drunken Smurfs of Funkalicious Labatt (2-6) v Dayton Raiders (0-8)
The Smurfs have actually done pretty well considering they went super young and seek only to avoid relegation this season. Dayton meanwhile also wants to avoid relegation, but they better start winning some games quick before they get NBA Jam’d http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qW_vxGZ7xw outta here. Is is the shoes? Smurfs 35, Dayton 20

Game of the Week
Buffalo Rampage (7-1) v Wu Dang Kung Fu Academy (6-2)
I don’t know if this is Marvel v Capcom http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dGp-S5eRiw but both of these teams have won 6 straight and are now locked in a battle for home field and for bragging rights in the forum. You know we’ll hear about it from the winner for sure. Unlike last season when Buffalo played loldefense, they are for real this time. Wu is also looking legit, so this should be a solid GoTW. Buffalo 35, Wu 28
Other Games
Phu Khao Bow Chicka Brown Cows (7-1) v CPU
The Cows have looked Street Fighter-esq http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSck5TU0vyw this season is getting by their opponents, even when not playing their best. I refuse to even acknowledge the name of a CPU team. Cows 255, CPU 0
The New York Empire (7-1) v Praha Velvet Revolution (0-8)
It’s been a rough season so far for PVR and the schedule does not get any kinda this week with a nasty NYE squad. PVR is still plugging away though and hopefully still hanging around the forums. Keep at it guys, the X-Men http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnu_LV7G2OM don’t give up either. NYE 85, PVR 6
Krakow Kryptonite (7-1) v Tanzania Lumberjacks (4-4)
Tanzania has had a tough time as of late and now Krakow shows up to ruin their day again. TL is still in line to fight for the playoffs all season, even with a likely loss in this one. You never know though as they could jump up and go Double Dragon http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HhOyRKuQro on KK. Krakow 45, TL 20
Boston Bears (6-2) v Island of Misfit Toys (1-7)
Boston has been blowing up QBs like Cyberball http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oOMAy0A3yZQ this season while IMT has been getting their QB flattened. Probably not a good combo here. Boston 52, IMT 14
Buffalo Knights (4-4) v Mandalay King Cobras (4-4)
This should be a really good game. MKC played great last week and Buffalo always has the potential to be tough against anyone. There is potentially room for both teams to make the playoffs, but the winner will be in much better shape to do so. It's on like Donkey Kong http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1Ey9OdQXV0 Buffalo 20, MKC 17
Halifax Harpoons (4-4) v Chaotic Crew (3-5)
Only one game separates these two teams but it seems like more as CC is not really a playoff team as of yet. I’m guessing Halifax gobbles up what’s left of CC’s playoff chances like Ms Pacman http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gk6_ZnN1-q4 but I’ve been wrong many times before. Halifax 38, CC 17
Atlantic Great Whites (2-6) v Awendaw Toadfish (1-7)
At 2 games out of the playoff race, AGW needs to make their move and fast if they’re going to make a move. Pretty sure the Toadfish aren’t going to make a move but they do have a good shot and Pole Position http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUU_F9TvXco over a couple of other teams to stick around for next season. AGW 31, Awendaw 10
