Top Ten

#1 (Last Week: 1) - Cypriot Freedom (6-0) -After a starting out with 6 straight playoff teams, Cypriot finally gets a break (not that they have had a ton of trouble up to now anyway). Expect more of the same from Cypriot. Next opponent: 8 Mile Assault (Prediction - Cypriot by lots and lots)

#2 (Last Week: 2) - Asau Pirates (6-0) - San Diego kept it closer than predicted, but a 40+ win is solid regardless. Asau gets another player contender this week, but I do not foresee any issues here. Next opponent: Gold Coast Vipers (Prediction - Asau by 35+)

#3 (Last Week: 3) - Banzai Pipeline Nites (6-0) - Banzai won again, altho they needed an Elway style 2 minute drill to pull it off. As mentioned in the Week 5 thread, I am superstitious so Banzai stays put until the results of their next game are in. Winner of that one will be #3. Next opponent: Devonport Devils (Prediction - Devonport by 7)

#4 (Last Week: 4) - Devonport Devils (5-1) - The vacation to Hong Kong was just what the doctor ordered for Devonport. As discussed in Week 1, Hong Kong may well have a bright future ahead, but for now, Devonport got acquainted with their endzone...alot. Now it is back home to face #3 Banzai. Much like with Sin City, altho I am ranking Banzai higher, I am picking Devonport to win in a close one. Next opponent: Banzai Pipeline Nites (Prediction - Devonport by 7)

#5 (Last Week: 5) - Eastern European Alliance (5-1) - Very impressive win by EEA. I am sure bug and crew won't like it, but they have to wait one week to move up after that win. However, depending upon the results of the Devonport - Banzai game, they could be #4 next week. Next opponent: Warriors of Oceania (Prediction - EEA by a plethora of points)

#6 (Last Week: 6) - Sin City Silent Assassins (5-1) - As expected, Sin City won by a lot and thus stay at #6. They have a tough game against Stockholm coming up next. Next opponent - Stockholm Black Death (Prediction - Sin City by 14)

#7 (Last Week: 8) - 6th Street Savage Swarm (3-3) - I know what you guys are feeling. We lost in a similar fashion to Cypriot. Still, you guys have played a very tough opening schedule and performed well against everyone but Cypriot. The good news is that schedule gets a bit easier over the next 4. However, if you lose focus, you could lose one that you shouldn't. Next opponent: OffTopica Miracle (Prediction - 6th Street by 24)

#8 (Last Week: 7) - Sumatra Sea Hawks (5-1) - The loss to EEA pretty much assures you guys will be the #3 seed in Zeta. However, don't sleep on the two newcomers (Oregon and Indianola). Still, Sumatra has a nice easy 5 game streak now, so they should be right around here for a while. Next opponent: Fairview Heights Fireflies (Prediction: Sumatra by a bunch)

#9 (Last Week: 9) - Bora Bora Bangaroos (4-2) - As they claimed, Stockholm kept it very close and pushed Bora to the last second. What an exciting end to that game. As mentioned tons of time, the middle of Alpha is full of solid and similarly talented teams, so a win is a win, regardless of the margin. Next opponent: Urban Super Dogs (Prediction - Bora Bora by a ton)

#10 (12) - Stockholm Black Death (4-2) - With their last second loss to Bora Bora, Stockholm earns a top 10 spot. They have been fighting a low initial ranking, and did not play a very tough opening schedule, so they did not have alot of chances to improve. However, they played a good Bora Bora team as close as you can without winning, and thus get the boost to right under Bora Bora. Of course, the 10 spot has not been a real lucky place to be, so they may wish I had left them out after this week. Next opponent: Sin City Silent Assassins (Prediction: Sin City by 14)

The Rest of the Pack
#11 (11) - Gold Coast Micheline Men (4-2)
#12 (10) - Death Dealers (3-3)
#13 (13) - Oregon Ducks (4-2)
#14 (14) - Boston Bulldogs (3-3)
#15 (15) - Indianola Longhorn Legends (4-2)
#16 (17) - IC Incinerators (3-3)
#17 (18) - Gold Coast Vipers (3-3)
#18 (19) - San Diego Supa Chargers (3-3)
#19 (20) - Saipan Sin-Eaters (2-4)

#31 (31) - Warriors of Oceania (0-6)
#32 (32) - Motown Legends (0-6)

Banzai vs. Devonport

Good luck plank, hopefully we can keep it as close as your 7 point prediction.

Thanks for doing these Plank. Now that Stockholm has everyone's attention it is going to be really hard to keep it. Our schedule is about to get brutal and we've got some work to do.

I'd be willing to wager that Devonport wins by more than 3 scores thus proving that Plank is either playing dumb on purpose or doesn't know what he's talking aboutAlso ranking Sumatra behind 6th street may be showing the biggest alpha bias ever. I actually think Bora Bora will take it to 6th street.

New OC since then though. Given another chance I feel like we could win that match.

I sort of agre with this except we did somehow beat both teams mentioned, although not by much. We're ranked a little too high. We are a 3-3 team and we need to fix somethings or we'll hover at .500 all season.

12-4. If you don't like the Alpha bias, maybe Zeta needs to win a few more next time. However, Sumatra beat the #25 ranked team from Alpha by roughly the same amount that EEA beat Sumatra by, so maybe I am under-ranking most of Alpha....

Re: 6th Street, they have one blemish (a thumping by Cypriot), but otherwise played 2 teams ranked higher than them within a TD. In contrast, Sumatra lost to a team ranked a couple of spots higher than them by 32. Seems about right to me, but if you think otherwise, please post your own rankings and I'll let you know why I think yours are wrong

I agree that Bora Bora is playing better than when they played 6th, but my rankings are based on what happened, not what should have happened or what could have happened. They are not really predictive, which is part of the reason I don't mind picking a lower ranked team to win.

Every team that you have lost to is ranked above you. The website already ranks teams by records, so there is no need for someone to do that. I would be surprised if you lose more than one or two more games.
