Continuation of the preseason rankings... got some games under our belt, especially for the new CPL teams and separation will begin to show as we go forward.

Here we go.

1. QCBC - no reason they don't hold onto the top spot.... admittedly not a very impressive group of teams among the first 4 games but they've flexed their muscle and have beaten each of them badly as they should. Next 4 isn't too bad but look for Raging and Manitoba to put up a better fight than their first 4 games. Pretty overrated DC last I heard.

2. Niagara Maulers - don't see why not they retain the 2 spot, they haven't beaten some common opponents as QC as soundly but that's just reaching really.... certainly look impressive thus far. Game vs Raging will be a nice gauge to where they stand this season.

3. Manitoba Matadors - tough one b/w Algoma but Manitoba has had some very strong victories including the cross game vs LAWN where most of the Lawn dots hadn't been hit hard yet by decline. After that test, they've handled a couple middle tiered squads in Doug Flutie and Puvi to show they'll vie for a home playoff game. Game vs Thunder Bay will be a challenge and game vs QC will show how close they are to contending. DC I heard is one of the best in the business.

4. Algoma Arena Rockers - blasted out of the gates with their opening win only to have to go down to the wire vs the Rippers. Feel like their scores don't reflect the talent on this team but their winning and that's most important. Will have Raging as a nice test to close out the halfway point but conceivably be undefeated at the midway point. Thinking this squad is just coasting to the playoffs.

5. Thunder Bay Wolverines - tough draw to get Queensland on the cross game but played tough. Impressive win over Raging to show they'll be in thick for a home playoff game. Got a trio of decent challenging games starting with Doug Flute where they could slide back to the middle or continue to surge.

6. BSoDF - putting them here barely over Raging. The blowout loss to Manitoba was surprising (maybe not b/c of their famed 0cares) but they got some hard earned W's over Puvi and Chopping Broccoli. Considering they pass the ball just about 100% of the time and show no signs of slowing down.... they'll continue to be in some tight games as long as opposing teams plan for it but their dot strength may be too much. Thunder Bay, QC and Niagara over the next 4 could have this team closer to .500 at the midway point.

7. Raging Alcoholics - probably one of the bigger disappointments to start out the season A couple not so pretty 20 point losses to the Longhorns and Wolverines have me wondering if they're just cruising along or dealing with a sophomore slump. Things don't get any easier with QC, Niagara, and Algoma over the next 4 games....... but wouldn't be surprised if they could get 2 out of 3 there. Losing all 3 will certainly put them in a hole for playoff seeding but I think this team will get it together soon.

8. Puvi Musketeers - impressive cross conf victory over the Salty Dogs but have regressed since esp with the loss to Manitoba. Strom stop hitting up the bugs forum so much , lol and gameplan more (I'll read your PM soon). Still giving this team the edge here for the last playoff spot simply b/c of talented dots and experience but they'll need to win the games they should win from here on out to secure a playoff spot or risk missing out on the playoffs for a 2nd straight season. 2nd quarter of games looks favorable and wouldn't be surprised to see them back at .500 at the midway point.

Outside looking in

9. Thunder Bay Sabertooths - gonna go with somewhat of a surprise here... 3 losses to QC, Niagara, and Algoma is nothing to be ashamed off...... has had some trouble scoring against those teams and will be interested to see once the schedule softens up if they'll be able to get going offensively and beat some of the teams around their level. From here on down, it'll just come down to care level and who puts in the better gameplan consistently..... this team has solid young dots for sure. If they play as well as ryan grant posts, then they could be a playoff squad or not, lol

10. Yorkshire Rippers - got their first win vs the overmatched Dallas Knights..... has a solid effective level..... wanting to see if they can translate that to more wins. Considering Manitoba has a lower eff. level..... a little concerned considering they were beat soundly by the Matadors. 3 of the next 4 are against teams around their level..... so they can make up ground without a doubt on the playoff race if they get it going.

11. Bortland Nerfalots - 3 losses were against top notch CPL teams and actually played pretty well vs the Rulers which is why they're here. Should be able to get 3 out of the next 4 possibly and get right back to .500 as well.... will be interested to see how they fare against the other new teams in the leageu.

12. Munich Piranhas - solid showing vs Thunder Bay gives them some hope this season..... like all the other teams on the outside looking in, they'll need to beat a majority of those squads to separate themselves and put them in playoff contention. Got a couple tough games coming up but could still see them at .500 at the midway point as well.

13. Northeast Choppin Broccoli - will give this team some credit, it does look like they are trying a bit as they haven't really suffered a massive blowout to any of the team they play... it just simply may be that they're a bit young looking at their roster to compete right away but if they continue to stick with it, they can certainly pull of some W"s as the season progresses.

14. Siberian Express - 2 wins vs 2 CPU teams doesn't show for much and I'm putting them below Choppin Broccoli b/c of the head to head loss. Next 3 games are tough ones for sure but will be gauges to see where they stand the rest of the season or if they care enough.

15. Dallas Knights - looks like it's gonna be a long season for you guys when you lost more games than the number of points scored the entire season. Best of luck trying to avoid demotion (I mean that).

16. Hub City Hustlers - GUT

I mean, who's watching Catch? He "fixed" 54 bugs on January 9th, including defensive pursuit angles (really?) http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=4089243&page=last#36904614

Well done. One of my favorite things about league forums. Our game vs Matadors was definitely and ugly one for us.

Week 1 = Puvi's Super Bowl

Week 1 = 32 days before St. John's season begins.

yup, we have definitely had a tough opening schedule. we need to win the games we are supposed to and then hopefully pull off a couple upsets to sneak in to the playoffs.
