So whats the ideal cap to stop investing in Catching?
68, 73, or 77?

depends on build.
For speedster, or any type of non possesion receiver 68 will be fine.

But if you are building a posessions guy, 73 or 77 would be better... but i have a hard time justifying 77 in my head.

I would say much higher for both Poessession and non-Possession archetypes.

For non-Poss. guys, 73-75 natural would be expected. Then add 1 piece of Make Catch % AEQ. You could easily have a Speedster with 150+ Speed and 75 Catching.

For Poss guys anywhere from 77 upwards, maybe as high as 95 natural. Then add two pieces of EQ, +5 to +7 from Soft Hands VA and 2 pieces of Make Catch % AEQ. It would be common for a Possession WR to have over 100 Catching with all the bonuses and EQ.

Catching is what separates WRs (and receiving TEs) from HBs. They are both quick and agile but only receivers will consistently catch (non-screen) passes.

im pretty sure milehigh didnt mean 68 for end build. he meant 68 cap. ALGs will obviously take it higher than that, probably to the mid/upper 70's.

Thats true. My apologies milehigh.

I suppose it depends on when you are capping Catching. For a Speedster/Power guy you probably won't completely cap Catching until lvl 40s when the ALGs won't be more than a few. A Possession guy will probably cap Catching alot earlier, maybe as early as lvl 16 when the ALGs will be huge.

For a speedster you'll still be capping catching into your mid 50s.

How?

Speed 81
Agility 77
= level 33

Catching to 68
= level 41 (at the most)

What would you possibly cap 3rd for a speedster over catching?

speed to 89 instead of 81 would be a start

Speed to 90; Agility to 77 or 80; catching to 73-7.

you need catching to 77 with at least one piece of catch ball % to be effective. You don't get separation with any type of build, unless the CB is absolute crap.

I dunno, I think most archetype WRs will have at least 77 catching and 2 piece of Catch Ball. It isn't that hard to hit those totals. Unless you're disagreeing with the second part of the statement.

77 end build, maybe but I doubt that. especially with speed WR taking Speed to 89+ and then taking agility to 77.

The other problem I have is claiming that WR can not get separation. The problem is more or less tied to Lazy OCs that havent gotten progressions set up correctly.

With multi-training, it's actually quite easy to have your catching sitting on 50 before you even move on to it. But, having run a few through it, it doesn't seem likely to hit 77 through applying SP and still have reasonable SAs, jumping, vision, etc.
