Hey everyone, I'm recapping the old GC games because I've been behind on my work quota
Gotham (AP) -- After several high-profile additions to the roster this offseason, it's put a whole new pressure on the Punishers to win.
And win they did not, as the Minnesota Lumberjacks won the day, 20-6. After scoring the opening points, Gotham could only sit back and watch as Minnesota scored 17 unanswered points in the Abusement Park. Coach David Sack commented, "It might sound like an excuse to you, but just wait until we begin functioning cohesively. The Lumberjacks are a good squad, they earned their win today."
The big three additions this offseason - Harley Petit, Brad Solmes, and James Laurinitis22- contributed, but looked mostly average on the field today. Solmes commented on his performance today. "In the USA Pro, we think we're the cream of the crop. Well now I know, there are competitors everywhere." On the defensive side, James Laurinitis22 collected 4 solo tackles, but similar to his offensive counterparts, was limited to the ordinary. "I'm not going to get upset over this. We have 15 games ahead of us."
For the Lumberjacks, Caleb Trips stood out on offense and special teams, catching 11 balls for nearly 150 yards, and almost breaking the century mark on kickoff return yards. After the game, Trips told the press with a tired grin, "I'm tired... Could you interview me tomorrow?"
