I hear a lot of negative things about the passing game, but I'm not sure how accurate it is. so are WRs even worth making for somebody who will only have 1-2 players?

they are almost always useless from lvl 1-38... but after that they start producing and by the time they near plateau they actually become effective offensive weapons and you'll see more production out of them.

But if you're only going to have one or two players i suggest a QB, Rec. TE, or HB over a WR... for the same flex you'll get more enjoyment (positive plays) out of them.

WRs can still be very effective at upper levels, but your build needs to be in the top 5% of builds. I'd suggest that only experienced builders who are heavy into the game build them.

not worth it, on my team, 83 receptions to RB and 23 reception/4 drops to number 1 WR

i wouldnt say its not worth it, but yes u do want to be experienced and be careful what team u would sign ur WR to cause its the team that will decide what kind of action u get as a WR. does the team have good QBs, or does the team even pass the ball?

The O.C. determines how good your games will be.... as you can see with this guy

yeah if you're on a team that knows how to utilise WRs then they can be very useful. I wouldn't recommend it if you're only going for 1 or 2 players and I certainly would advise against going Possession Receiver. I thought I would give it a go (I prefer to try out stuff rather than just go out and make what everybody else is doing), but whereas a normal receiver requires a good OC to be utilised properly, a possession receiver seems to require either an OC who specialises in the passing game, or a brilliant OC.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the obvious...

When the passing game gets nerfed, teams run the ball.
When things favor the passer/ receiver, those plays get called.

It's anybody's guess how each season will go.

I have a WR and I may not make another one for quite a while. It sucks having spent lots of time building them the right way only to have your team run the ball 50 times a game and throw it only a handful of plays. What really sucks is that some OC will still go runheavy against a CPU team! When I used to OC I would go pass happy against CPU or bad teams so EVERYONE can have fun...not just the HBs. You have to search for the right team if you want your WR to get looks.

Agree that only the best are worth it. My lvl 64 (71) guy has only had 2x 1000yd seasons. It should only be QBs and HBs that are 300 flex per level.

Receiving TEs are cheaper, get all the same SAs and have no competition on the Depth Chart as most teams only carry a Receiver and a Blocker.
