So I have a fairly young Deep Passer QB. Please review his stats and let me know what seems the best way to build him out so he is the most effective.

Level: 23/22
Strength: 55.53
Speed: 17.87
Agility: 26.38
Stamina: 36.25
Vision: 61.4
Confidence: 44.38
Blocking: 7.13
Tackling: 8
Throwing: 66.4
Catching: 8
Carrying: 15.38
Kicking and Punting: 8

Pocket Presence, Tight Spiral, Pump Fake, Turn Shoulder, & Field General: 2
Look Off: 2

He is only completing 50.4% of his passes, and some of that can be contributed to drops and deflected passes. But what can I do to make him better?

Tactics are set as:
Hard intensity
-37 Bullet over Lofty
Passing Priority is 0/balanced (this is a new setting, it was -37 to Open Vs Route Distance)
Scrambles sometimes
Dump Pass when checking down as normal
Favor long pass: yes
Throw away risk: aggressive

Should I take off the Favor Long Pass?

well, ideally you would retire. i dont like to say it, but that is really a pretty bad build. lvl 23 and not a single thing is even 68 capped. and points in SAs already on top of that. if you do go this route, i would recommend start with throwing first to the 77 cap. you could go strength first, but you are probably best off going with throwing since you are probably going to want that to be your highest attribute end game.

if you want to try to salvage the build, throwing to at least 77 is the next step. probably then followed by vision since thats your next highest attribute (even though, ideally, strength would probably be next), followed by strength. lay off the SAs for a long long long long long time still.

You should like totes retire. Here's my level 19/22 for example:

God Hand (Lv. 19 QB)
Ht/Wt: 6'6", 260lbs

Experience, Skill Points, and Cash
Money: $0
Daily Salary: $525
Skill Points: 14
Training Points: 0
Bonus Tokens: 42
Veteran Points: 0
Next Level: 897/1000

Attributes
Physical Attributes
Strength: 54.06
Speed: 6
Agility: 12.5
Jumping: 10
Stamina: 10.5
Vision: 25.06 (+1)
Confidence: 14.5

Football Skills
Blocking: 10
Catching: 8
Tackling: 8
Throwing: 103.06 (+18)

Just reroll when the season is over and start with either throwing or strength and bring it to 77 at least.

Cool, thanks guys, I appreciate the advice. I am going to salvage this build. I have a few unconventional players that seem to do pretty good.

I know I put points in SA way too early, but he was unsigned for a few seasons and I was frustrated....meh.

I did make a few changes before his last game, I turned off the preference for the deep pass and put passing priority to -25. He did significantly better:

10/14, 145, 1 TD

his previous effort against a similarly ranked team:

11/25, 64, 0

Not sure if it was all on my end or just a bad Defense on the other end. I will roll with his settings like this the rest of the season and see what happens.

Thanks again for the help. I will update next mid season with where my stats are at and his progress as a player.

...also, you would not believe how effective his Pump Fake and Look Off skills are. When I review his highlights one of these has always occurred. I am pretty amazed at this, should I be?

not really. at this point of your dot's career, many of the dots on the defense have probably yet to invest in vision, and so they are going to bite on stuff like that. but when their builds round out they will probably leave your dot in the dust.

You should really consider starting fresh. You will be happier in the end. Also if you plan on boosting it's a must as it's pointless to invest any more flex.
