Question: what is this bet amount? What are we betting with? or is this a way just to gage how confident we are about the game?

It explains it pretty clearly, but essentially whatever you bet is what you either win or lose (points wise) for getting the game correct/incorrect.

Yep, will do. I'm planning on winning this since I've done a pretty good job of predicting the winners
in gold.
