My dearest Bort,

Oh what has our relationship come to? This season began with such grand illusions. It seemed as if our Pee Wee community had finally found an ear with such changes as rentable CEQ. I was so excited by this and some other items, that I even bought back our old team. I did an about face on my, "I'm only making a few dots next season," position because of my frustration with you and the SIM. I branched out and made even more dots for more teams. I felt like PW would be fun again.

All the excitement headed into the season led me to overlook some of the SIM problems. I was holding off on judging thinking that stuff like passing would get better as the builds matured. Then, you ran the flex promo. I even backed off of the, "You'll never get another cent from me!" position. I honestly felt that you had heard our cries, that you deserved some more of my hard earned money, and that I would be rewarded with entertaining dot ball.

Alas, it seems as if you are no different that our elected leader in Washington. You thoroughly bent me over and broke one off in me without even the common decency to give a man a reach around. I don't even think you reached for the lube, and I can almost hear your laughter as I'm trying to grit my teeth through the pain.

Your SIM is broken. Scratch that, it's totally F'd up. Yes, passing needed a nerf, but you didn't have to do this. The game has become a snooze fest of slam ball, and it is not entertaining nor is it challenging. The only challenging part is to try and be different -- that only leads to failure against quality opponents.

The DSBT (http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=6791) have lost 3 legit games this season. All 3 games we lost have been to quality opponents that may very well have beaten us in any SIM from any past season. This is in no way shape or form an attack at them, their coaches, or agents. Kudos where applicable for playing the way the SIM rewards for this season.

Of those 3 games, 1 was lost in the more traditional way. We out gained our opponent who tried a run oriented attack but threw enough. They played an entertaining game and won by 7 with 2 ST scores. One of the other losses featured a balanced attack of 75 rushes and 2 incomplete passes. In that game, HB Slam (PS) was ran 16 times while HB Blast (PS) was ran 10 times. In fact, all the rushes look about like that. The TOP was skewed 40-20 as you could imagine.

Finally, the 3rd loss took place today. We lost to a very good team. They had a balanced attack of 74 rushes and 15 passes. Of the 74 rushes, 14 were outside. Of those 14, there were 4 sweeps (2 each HB and FB), 1 FB across, and 2 pitches. The rest were off tackle runs. Basically, they slammed the ball 67 times for a TOP win of 46 to 14.

Do you honestly think anyone actually gets enjoyment out of this? Really? This is absolutely the suckiest SIM and season I've ever been a part of. Do you look at the games? Do you really believe there's a RPP? I feel like all those people unfortunate enough to have voted for Obama -- lied to and then royally screwed over. Thanks for everything.

I'd ask for a refund, but then that would mean I'd have to stick around longer until I run out of flex. I really should follow in the footsteps of Vreck who was smart enough to recognize the BS you feed us for what it really is. Thanks for the ass reaming. I hope it's better for you than it is for me.

Irritably yours,

-Juice

Can I have your unused/unwanted flex?

Well some would argue this is the best sim yet. I have to disagree, but my opinion doesn't mean much. Pretty much what my profile home page says it all.

What some people are doing when they leave is get invited as a GM on a lot of their friends teams and donate the max 500 flex on each team. That way, the flex isn't going to waste.

As for the SIM balance, I like that they nerfed passing some, but they did it a little too much IMO. It's not as bad as it was back in S12-S14, but it's closer to that then last season. They need to find a happy middle and they keep missing it.

I'm glad I'm outta PW. Catch told me once that the PW sim would 'never look the way I wanted it to look', and was alright with that statement.

After spending over a calander year trying to fight for changes in PW, I was more than happy to sell the team and work my way up to the only place that Bort cares about: PL/WL.

After my WL team retires, I will build a Pee Wee team for a season and then go back to climbing to the WL. Or I'll just let my account go to waste with over $1000 worth of refunded flex just sitting there. Depends on how fun my WL run goes.

Honestly all they needed to do was trim down Pump Fake and it would have looked good in Pee Wee... as it was, most times it didn't make a ton of sense to pass unless it was second and short and you were trying for some big yards or you were TFL, false started, etc. and needed to make up the yards.

Slants were OPed, PF was OPed, but at least the running game wasn't as OPed as in the past. With GL being an option anywhere on the field for decent yards, the passing sim opened up options for those of us who ran balanced attacks.

If the run blocking doesn't get a low-level nerf, the loss of the DPC customization will likely make running the ball even more powerful, though it is also possible that someone will be able to find the hole in the pass protection on short routes... Not being able to load up the line will make sweeps and short passes more of an option... I alwasy found that the O-line couldn't easily compensate for those outside SS and FS blitzes... PW will be shaken up again and who knows what it will look like next three seaons. Maybe a reason to keep playing, but frustrating to those that are always a little late to the party on the next sim hole.

As for me, I'm in casual so the DPC change will only make my matches against minor teams that much more even (aka I'll win by even more).

Sad to say that my 45 game winning streak was broken this season... due to a team running all sweeps and QB keepers. Obviously easy to stop with a DPC, not so easy with a casual format. I'm still going to win the league this season... fuck those other guys.

Glad to hear you're having fun, TT. I thoroughly enjoy the SR-22's, but PW has gone to shit. There is no balanced offense. As usual, your suggestions for the fix from last season are right on.

I agree with TT, they only needed to make 2 adjustments to the passing game from last season. That being to reduce the effectiveness of the pump fake and slant routes. Problem is they did a lot more than that and over nerfed passing so the sim is closer to what it was back in S12-S14.

I think they should have nerfed PF, slant routes and also catches in triple coverage.

Passing should be at around 45-50% completion rate imo...probably about 50 to be more balanced

I like that they realized shorter passes should have a higher % than longer passes, but they over did it so longer passes are too low of a % now. You shouldn't have a 50% completion rate on passes 10+ yards as people would just pass all day and play the odds, which is what they often did the past couple seasons.

I should be able to pass deep 4 times and get a first down a large majority of the time if my offense is built to pass the ball, and your defense is built to face a balanced attack, and is also set up to play against a balanced offense (which is primarily the case).

Last season's sim made it where a team could EASILY play the pass and limit the success of an all passing team, even with PF/Slants being as overpowered as I agree they were... the nerf was not only not needed... but I'd honestly have considered a boost to be in order with the PF/Slants being eliminated.

Believe it or not Gerr, Calvin Johnson catches balls in triple coverage all the time, before you go saying every dot isn't Calvin Johnson; why the hell shouldn't they be? I'm perfectly okay with a bunch of Darell Revis clones (*cough* clowns *cough*) jumping up and making deflections all the time as well....

Nobody wants to see a game of reality... maybe this sim honestly reflects the NFL a bit more (barring the lack of "Hot Routes" (Time for a suggestion on this matter, as soon as this rants over)) in its current state... but I can't stand to watch it.

This isn't a fantasy sim, it's a football sim, so ya, I want it as realistic as possible. Last season's passing wasn't realistic. This season's is a little more, but still not close enough as they made passing too hard now.

No, a team built for passing shouldn't be able to pass it 4 times deep a majority of the time, more like half the time, akin to the NFL.

And yes, some super star players are able to catch the ball in triple coverage, but to say they can do it all the time or even a majority of the time just isn't accurate. Plus this is Pee-Wee, we don't have super stars.

Well, I, and I feel the VAST majority of GLB disagrees with every single word you just said.

+1000 in PW, or at least in gold, nobody is playing with an effective level 5 dot against level 8s...so no players should be extremely overmatched...

Triple coverage is a stretch tbh, double coverage isn't though...

Nobody was catching in triple coverage ever, I'm not going to change the fact that I KNOW Gerr is absolutely wrong... and that even he himself would rather see it the way I would... just because you guys like to exaggerate the passing game of last season.... the perfectly easily defended passing game that is.
