Last 4 pts of equipment will go into speed.
I'm light training tackling. Should have 21-22 sp to spend after boost and upgrading AEQ and cashing in BT.
Was thinking I would put all of them in swat ball and first step

Nice, though I probably would have traded more catching instead of strength

Using sps on SB and tackling will certainly help the build. I'm not sure that FS will. Does he have any % AEQ? It doesn't show up when you copy and paste from the print friendly link.

deflect ball. I'm not going for INTs really, just want a huge PD score.

I'm not sold on the tackling. He hasn't missed a tackle on a WR in multiple seasons and he couldn't add enough to really help against the better spin backs.

First step may not seem that good, but it helps after a pump fake or a WR fake of some sort. Also, as a slot CB, I think they sometimes freeze then have to get back up to speed on some of the crossing routes, especially when WR #1 & WR #3 criss cross.

You may be right, but I think strength may actually help with the PD roll more than catching. I'm sure catching plays a much bigger role in the INT roll, but I'm going more for shut down CB than int CB.

why is jumping so low?
Also I would think about switching the sv piece for make tackle. 30 tackling is low and spin wr's are becoming pretty normal

I figure 80 after adding in high jumper should be fine when combined with the higher strength, swat ball, pd %, and sdc.

As for the AEQ, I'm personally a big fan of super vision not only for DBs, but LBs as well. As for the spin WRs, well they have to catch it before they break the tackle. Since he is a slot CB, I don't have to worry about the WR screens as much.

It's just hard for me to justify wasting sp to increase his tackling that much when I haven't seen him miss a tackle on a WR in a scrimmage or a game for 2 seasons.

Maybe Canton will scrimmage a team and he will get burned by a missed tackle on a WR before the start of next regular season, and make me change my mind though.

Ya, going for a man CB but not going to train strength at all. I'll see how that turns out.

FWIW, YMIV is playing CB1 on Hali with 41 tackling and he's only missed 1 tackle this season and only missed 5 last season while playing CB1 on MEM with 35 tackling. Though WRs will probably have higher break tackle scores in the future, barring any major sim changes I think you might be fine with mid-30s to 40s tackling. Will it be possible for you to get another piece of PD% AEQ? Something you might want to consider is dropping the SDC piece for another PD% piece and using some of your sps (that you would use on FS) to get SDC to 6-8 base.

I hadn't thought of that. I knew there was a reason for posting in here.

Or just forget about SDC altogether since it doesn't add much of a bonus and is incredibly overrated. The speed script tests I did showed barely any benefit from it in that area, and I doubt that the bonus would be drastically stronger for agility and pass deflection, but who knows. PD AEQ would be much better.

That's why if I have to choose I prefer to use PD AEQ over SDC. I'd rather just drop the sps into SDC to get the PD boost and combine that with the % AEQ.

yeah, I just don't like the fact that it is only 12.5% max from the second piece. Part of me wants to believe that SDC piece gives more benefit than +12.5% pd chance, even though I know it probably doesn't.

That's why you stack them both.
