Here are some updated rankings to rip into. Hopefully everyone will be a little nicer this time around.

Position - Team - Record - Synopsis - Move in rankings
1. N.H. Hounds (5-0) – Great defense or little offense? Either way, the Hounds beat a very game MST Ragin’ Peckerheads. Until they are taken down, I don’t see them falling from this spot, but there is a chance because of the second ranked team. (0)

2. Phoenix Resurrection (5-0) – Able to finish off the very game Patriots as I had predicted them to be. Omaha should not be mocked for their record because they have some great talent. Phoenix had a great win to be able to finish the game off late. (+1)

3. Miami Canes (4-1) – Absolutely demolished the Pittsburgh Soldiers. I mean crushed. After a close first half, it was 30 unanswered points for the Canes to send the Soldiers packing out of the top 10. I expected better out of Pitt, but the Canes came through. (+3)

4. San Marcos Rivermen (4-1) – Offense came back to take out the Thetford Mines in a strong shutout. No surprise considering the Rednecks ability… or lack thereof. The Rivermen have to be concerned though, giving up 3 turnovers in a gimme game. (+4)

5. Las Vegas Legends (5-0) – Another two days and another underwhelming L.V. win. If anyone thinks these guys are legit that isn’t on the Legends, let me know. A 5 point win against a team that has to be angry they didn’t get to go for the TD in the 4th quarter. (+2)

6. Austin Lumberjacks (4-1) – Lost the turnover battle by 3, but when you can do that and still win the game against a good Raving team going away in the 4th, the more power to you. Have to be frustrated with the loss against Anchorage. (+4)

7. Raving Mad Dawgs (4-1) –The team or the schedule? What’s the answer? This game didn’t say much. The offense was anemic, but the defense held Austin down long enough to have a shot. Highly dependent on the passing game, which couldn’t do enough. (-2)

8. Anchorage Maulers (4-1) – Victim in the polls of a very weird game “week” to only slide up one spot. Took care of Colorado Springs very nicely, and there is something to be said for cleaning up the dirty messes and winning the “easy” ones. (+1)

9. New Orleans Golden Kangaroos (4-1) – Bad field position killed the Golden Kangaroos who should not have had so much issues with Collinsville. All the credit to the Pirates, but losing to all-defeated teams doesn’t fare well for the future. (-7)

10. Pittsburgh Soldiers (3-2) – I was wrong in saying they could lose two games in a row and stay in the top 10. Looked anemic and poor against the Canes and need to improve real quick as they get #1 New Hampshire next. Can you say “uh-oh”? (-6)

Haha. Were you around last year to watch the season unfold?

"Omaha should not be mocked for their record because they have some great talent."

Winning is everything. Hope and Aspiration befriend us all.

LumberJacks on the rise.

Oh yeah I saw Omaha's horrid record, but they have great talent and their numbers in the matchups are far better than their record shows.

It's not what you got, but how you use it that counts . Are a number of teams with good levels but have never used them well (Colorado/Omaha/OOS (pre-sale)), and then there are teams like Las Vegas who don't have the numbers but churn out win after win.

And whats with the random quotation on words, is like reading one of the tabloids over here with their penchant for bolding words at random.

I think for rankings you have to go by what's been done on the field. If you just look at the level of guys or the numbers in the matchup screen then you would be consistently backing teams that aren't the best. A big part of this game is the build of your guys and the tactics settings.

Time will tell. Take this to the bank:

New Hampshire is overrated but not as nearly as much as Phoenix is.

Miami is about right.

Las Vegas is a bit more overrated than the Rivermen.

Austin LumberJacks and the Anchorage Maulers are both underrated.

Mad Dawgs are overrated. Kangaroos are underrated for sure.

I think Pittsburgh should just miss out on the Top 10 and so, are a bit overrated.

Then again, it is always easier to be the critic than the daring. I appreciate your putting the Top 10 together. All are opinions and none are perfect.

I see how you've determined your ranking and in your defense, as Bill Parcells says, "You are what your record says you are."

Thank you for the kind words.

Please keep thinking our record is better than it should be. You are absolutely right.

I agree we (the Hounds) may be overrated, but we are definately in the top half of this list. As for your team the LumberJacks, you will be up the list after more games have been played. The one team I noticed noone is talking about is the Badasses. This is the most underrated team in our league. They beat us last year in the playoffs and none of their starters have boosted yet.

Which I think brings up another point to consider. There are a lot of players and whole teams who are waiting to boost before the playoffs. I know about half our starters are waiting and I know the Badasses will be an underdog going into the playoffs but will magically be just as good if not better than the team they are playing once the playoffs start.

It's the teams that haven't boosted and are still well up the list you have to worry about .

Nobody saw the Lone Star Bats making it through to promotion, yet they did. I appreciate the intelligent responses as opposed to all the L.V. bitching about how they were ranked too low despite having played nobody of any substance at all. I avoided doing the ranking for the first 3 games so that we wouldn't run into a situation where one team has one good win and are near the top for no reason. As the schedule continues, the quality of rankings will change. I agree N.H. might be overrated, but they beat my Miami Canes who are "about right" at 3.

Obviously, I can just run and try to defend my rankings, but if they turn out right is the only way to truly defend it.

I was clearly wrong with Pittsburgh, after their 0-39 loss, but they have a chance to make up for it against the Hounds. The schedule is quick enough fortunately that it provides for some interest in these kinds of threads whereas power rankings in the NFL I find a bore because it changes every Tuesday and you see the same ranking for 7 days in a row.

Hey I hear ya and I really am more trying to state my opinions based off the template you put down than tryin to criticize. I'm glad someone has the nuts to go out there and do it. I surely enjoy these rankings but am obviously gonna slant my opinions in my team's favor as much as anyone.

Keep it up, brothaman. I will keep being that A-hole who spouts off about how the Jacks should be #1 despite their 3-13 record.

Dig it.

LOL

Dig it for sure. Austin will be in the top 3-4 soon if they stop giving up turnovers.

Hounds dig it for sure too, but they've beat a hopefully appropriate #3 Miami team.

Love yourself much?

I find these rankings hilarious.

If you put down the Haterade you'll realize I had Pitt ahead of the Canes last week, ergo making that win pretty huge.

Still angry about the Legends spot? Check out the fact they improved two spots, reference last game's rankings and realize what I said was exactly true.
