Bull Rusher

This defender is a handful to block. For each level of Bull Rusher, Strength has 1% more of an effect on break block rolls vs rushing plays, and .5% more of an effect on break block rolls vs passing plays.


So what that's saying is that if strength, for your player, is 50% of the break block roll, then having 15 in Bull Rusher means an increase of 7.5%/3.75% on a break block roll?

Has anyone used this VA on a pass rushing DE?

I think it works and will take it first from now on. Pocket Crusher+Bull Rusher+Strong Base = Stackola. Seems to level the playing field. Still good luck on getting sacks for a DT

its tough to say for a DE. Youll be seeing many different builds.

Actually, eh, bull rusher has no relation to pocket crusher and strong base, I think... "pushing a defender back" isn't part of the break block roll.

I have it on a run stuffing DE and he gets some sacks and many hurries.

It's a must for all DE's period. I guess I could see speed ends not wanting it, but I'm not sure there's a worthwhile speed DE that doesn't have at least 80 strength (high end level 72 I mean) That being said...

BullRusher gives a 15% boost to strength in your BB roll... your BB consists of strength, agility and some other things. It basically increases the effect strength has on your BB roll. And yes... a 7.5% on passing plays.

15% in rushing/7.5% in passing.

this statement isn't necessarily true... I could see how gaining momentum could technically increase your ability to break a block... but we really have no clue how the rolls are determined.

What you're saying is the opposite, strong base/pocket crusher having an impact on bull rusher's effectiveness, but we don't even know if there is any difference in the break block roll when the variation in momentum is so small.

I was merely stating that you can't rule it out... and I don't think the earlier post was stating that BR had an effect on SB/PC, it was stating that they could stack together in effectiveness... which neither of us really know for certain. In theory it could, or it couldn't.

Yeah, but that's how most things are in GLB...

Way to misconstrue my words. I never said they combine to make a single better VA i mean they work in tandem. You must either get blocker out of way or push him back to get to QB. Those VAs and SA will make a power rush beast

but you did say stack... which would imply that add onto each other, like same type % AEQ would. just sayin'

I would think a break block and a push blocker back roll would have similar requirements thus making those two strength based VAs plus a strength based push blocker aid would do the trick. there.
