Using the player builder I simmed my Hard-Hitting SS to day 440 and this is what I decided on:

Level 74

Strength 0%
79.02
Speed 3%
85.01
Agility 0%
76.38
Jumping 3%
52.04
Stamina 2%
61.38
Vision 1%
80.34
Confidence 3%
50.71
Tackling 2%
91.01
Catching 78%
22

Change Direction: 5 ... Superior Vision: 3
Wrap Up: 4 ... Diving: 4 ... Growl: 2... Big Hit: 3... Monster Hit: 3
Head Hunter: 6

977 BT's

Aside from not leaving Catching at 78%, is this an ideal end-build? What would you change?

the big thing is that your SAs are way too spread out... and you maybe dont have enough invested in them (maybe take a few points out of each or some attributes to spread out the cost). but i would say your attributes look beautiful. BTs might also be an issue if you plan on 4 AEQ, so if you can plan for more of those, that would probably also be beneficial.

Gotcha. Never built a hard hitting safety before... what's the order of importance of SA's?

How much speed are you shooting for with equipment?

135-140 with AEQ I think would be more than sufficient for WL/PL by then.

Still wondering what the order of importance for the SA's should be... and if HH is a suitable extra ability

in the past? there have been a few good HH dots... although i couldnt link them for you, but i know they were out there. it was just hard to make them. in the future it should be much easier because of the new archteypes... especially for dots that play in zone.

but to answer your question icy, its hard to really give an order of importance... they are all important. like for a CB, its hard to say that SV is more important than SDC or CD, or SB, but i would say that you for sure want MH and BH (or at least one of those), SV, and CS if you can afford it. as for the extra SA, i would say that HH is a good choice for a hard hitter... but the thing that trips me is the thing about being near or at full speed. so if you could also throw FS in there, it would make it even better... but at that point, we are talking about ~129 SP worth of SA. another option, instead of HH and FS would be jack hammer. this would increase your coverage skills if nothing else, and would allow your DC to put you in more coverage situations. if you get JH to 8, SV to 8, CS to 8 (6 from AEQ), and BH to 8, we are looking at 81 SP (or 16.2 levels worth). i think that is fairly manageable.

out of curiosity what was the order of which you capped things, and what level you took them to with this build plan?

Tackling, Speed, Vision, Strength/Agility. Tackling to 75, Speed to 77, Vision to 73, Strength/Agility to 73. Then Stamina, Jumping, and Confidence. I needed to train something on Light the last season for BT's and I figured Catching was the best option, though any INTs he gets will be a bonus. I believe I multi-trained Speed, Vision, Strength, Stamina for a while, then swapped out Speed for Agility... and so forth.

Head Hunter is worded incorrectly. Bort answered this in one of his Q&A's. Head hunter fires if the tackler travels a certain distance towards the ball carrier and is uninterrupted and unblocked the whole way there. It has nothing to do with how fast the tackler is actually moving.

I'm building a HH SS too... almost identical plan, except different SA's, and took tackling higher, working on STR 3rd and vision 4th, multi-training STA, JUM, CON, and CAT at the end of his career, no SP's in jumping but it ends at 51, and sta an con have sp's dumped to reach 58 end build... everythign else pretty close to yours with a couple 1-4 point variances.

Currently lvl 25, maybe we'll meet in WL lol.

Ah, cool. Didn't know that about HH. If he's good enough to make it to the WL, then I will have accomplished my main (realistic) goal for him.
