He's only 90 speed, but he's usually about 10-20 yds ahead of the play

He cracks back on the OLB when the CB infront of him has obviously broke the WR's block
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1431434&pbp_id=13822680

Here he runs so far ahead he leaves the entire D behind him to make the tackle
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1431434&pbp_id=13823860

He leaves the 110 spd HB so far behind he might as well not even try to block
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1431434&pbp_id=13824816

plenty of other examples, he's my first FB and I'm trying to figure out his build. It seems that a blk FB is the only build that doesn't benefit from going extreme in any one attribute and its just better to cap out as many of the primaries and secondaries as you can.

Play 1, the FB looks to have already committed to blocking the LB and didn't see the CB break free. Plus, he got revcaked almost right away so couldn't move after that.

Play 2 is a common issue w/ FB blocking. Adjusting speed helps. Also, a bit more vision and quick cut to help him get into position easier. Players pretty much know their abilities so if he knows that he can't get into position to make the block he will look for another one.

Play 3, the HB didn't run through the correct hole so not really the FBs fault.

I don't put First Step on my blocking FBs just for this reason. You want to stay close to your HB and not get too far ahead.

1. All dots are idiots

So you feel that quick cut would be better than first step? What level should you start putting SP into SA?

OP I like your build.

I've decided to take my speed up last and put vision up a bit more at first. Here's my build: http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1886148

Sometimes he lags behind the HB, but he never gets behind the defense like he's running a fly route. Maybe you can also try to put some EQ in vision?

next on my list I thought at first I should cap spd at 77 or 74, but after really watching (thanks to the new replay lists) I'm debating about switching to vis now

After watching a lot of FB's get lapped by speed freaks I thought it would help get to the initial block, but he just seems to go to fast. I've never thought about QC for a FB though

Very true, but my guy is just frustrating enough to make me think he's "special"

FB blocking has always been frustrating (to say the least) - especially outside blocking. That is a shame really, because building and watching a blocking FB is actually quite funny. The problem with too much speed is that, like redwood22 said, all dots are idiots. They don't know when its best for them to slow down, and accelerate back up. They just hit max speed and go with it.
So there is that, and then there is this:

I heard blockers always head to whoever has the most tackling that is unblocked within a certain radius. I guess that proves it or else why would he just fall back to the NT like that? I think in terms of who to block the sim treats O-lineman and FB's the same.
