Time for a bonus edition of Texan's picks. Ya, it's been a while, but it's time to celebrate the release of Rock Band 3, with a pick list composed entirely of RB3 songs.
Krungthep Garudas (17-0) v Cult of Personalities (13-4)
The first meeting ended like every Krungthep game ends in SEA so far this season--a blowout. An even bigger blowout than usual at 124-16. Could it be that CoP was holding out in week 15, knowing they may see fool and co again soon? That I don't know, but what I do know is that their shouts of "Viva La Resistance" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYh9chkg-VI aren't likely to be enough. You know fool and taut are busting out the "Killing Moon" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNKUTR7h_u8 and planning this up right. Krungthep 77, CoP 21.
Palembang Drunken Monks (14-3) v Wroclaw Wolverines (10-7)
Wroclaw pulled off a bit of a shocker, much like their Wolverine counterparts in Red Dawn in game one versus favored Pu Dong. The Monks had a fight on their hands from sister team PDP, but live to fight another day. The first meeting of these teams ended with a 24-13 win for the Monks, where neither team could really get going on offense. For Boomy, it would be "Just Like Heaven" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmI7r--S1-I to reach the title game against our old friends the Garudas. You know the Wolverines don't want this to be their "Last Dance" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ioikcg-RJ8M in this season's playoffs and this game should be close. Monks 31, Wolverines 24
Cambodian River Rats (16-1) v The New York Empire (12-5)
Empire would love to forget the week 6 beatdown 114-20 at the hands of the RiverRats and they don't even have the excuse of CoP that they may see them again in a couple of weeks. The RiverRats are just that good imo. The RiverRats just have "The Look" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scbeNVXGzdI of a conference champion this season and this is probably the second most lopsided matchup of the round. No offense at all to Empire, but "No One Knows" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2Fu1ch1Mlo how to plan around the RiverRats' talent advantage. CRR 85, Empire 30
Lucid D.R.E.A.M. (16-1) v Buffalo Rampage (15-2)
These two old school SEA Pro teams are probably the most evenly matched of this round. While Lucid is technically the favorite, having won the regular season matchup 49-27, I know from experience that you never count out the Rampage. It was a huge deal when I was DCing Tet and we finally got past them. Come playoff time, Buffalo turns it on and becomes "Something Bigger, Something Brighter" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBfc3kod2pQ Now, don't think all of this is about Buffalo because Lucid has had a hell of a season, with only one loss thus far and they have experience and talent. You know they want Buffalo to have nothing left but "Smoke On The Water" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0bLP-kNnLw when this one is done. Tough call here, but I'm going Buffalo 42, Lucid 40
